Can't get scenarios to start

Running on windows 7 home edition --

game had always worked fine
now can't get to start of scenario, when I click 'proceed' nothing happens.
ALways, the game can't be exited -- get a error about can't write to C drive.

Any help would be much appreciated.

RE: Air Superiority Calculation taking too long

Hmmm can't get it going. No worry this was a problem for that game for a long time, I'll give it up. The problem appeared many patches ago, just thought I'd check if there were any developments that might make it run.

Calculate Air Superiority

<t> When I end the orders phase and the game reaches the 'Calculate Air Superiority' during its execution of the turn, the calculation of air superiority now takes so long that I find the game unplayable. It does eventually complete that phase, but at 4-8 minutes it makes the game unplayable for me....

Air Superiority Calculation taking too long

It's late 1944 and my campaign game is no longer playable because it takes a very long time to calculate air superiority each turn.

Anyone know anything that can help with this?

RE: What I Enjoy About This Game

I agree wholeheartedly with the praise. This is the only computer game that has an AI I respect, and that is a tribute to the great programming and brilliant scenario design that gets the most out of the AI. Hats off to you guys!

Russian language AARs

<t> A fellow in the Flashpoint Red Storm folder found a Russian wargaming site. It has AARs for WiTE and I thought Id post a slice of one here (translation via google translate):<br/> <br/> <br/> <br/> Passed the first month of the war. Fights go along the entire front from the Baltic to the Black S...

<t> Another very interesting comment:<br/> <br/> Since all other bridges were blown up, they rushed through the center. Abrams, sitting under cover in the woods and on the hill across the river began shooting while advancing in a dash. As a result, by the rules game ended at 6.45 since enemy forces ...

Great game!

I just wanted to say thanks, this is the best game I have played in a very long time. It's a breakthrough that takes wargaming to a whole new level.

RE: Interesting new way to play

I'm a big fan of this concept and used to mess around with it in Tiller's panzer campaigns series.

One of its great virtues is that play balanced vs. the AI gets a good boost.

Getting back into TOAW, questions about current build

Sudden inexplicable increase in 'calculating Air Superiority' time

AE has been running great for me using the multi core switches. Very fast.

After hundreds of hours of good running, out of the blue 'calculating air superiority' is taking waaaaay too long. I've been playing the same game the whole time, nothing changed... any advice?

My task force teleported

I ordered the Yorktown, 2 Cruisers and 7 destroyers to move from Suva to Auckland. The next turn Yorktown was in port at San Diego, and all the other ships were reported as arriving as reinforcements in San Francisco.

What is going on and what can I do about it?

What is wrong with the engineers? Haven't had to use them yet, but don't want to be surprised at a bad time.
