RE: Problems with German unit arrival in campaign game

OK, I will update my version of WitW and see if that takes care of the problem. I will submit a tech support ticket if it does not. Thanks!

RE: Problems with German unit arrival in campaign game

<t> Where do I send the game save to? And I am playing with the Eastern Front on, but neither of the units immediately in question (II SS Pzr Corps, 1st SS Panzergrenadier) were in the Eastern Front box.<br/>

Problems with German unit arrival in campaign game

<r> Hi everyone,<br/>
<br/>
I have been trying to get a campaign game going vs. the AI, and I am having problems with certain German units not arriving. They appear on the reinforcement/withdrawl list until the turn before they are supposed to arrive, and then they disappear off the list and they ...

RE: Anything new with night fighters

<t> I know that many WitW players used to opt not to fly night fighter missions at all, to save fuel for later use and save the precious trained night fighter pilots that can be disbanded and used to keep the day fighters manned. This is because NF kill rates were so low and it gets depressing to ...

Question about NKVD regiments in 1.06.06

<t> I bought WitE in November of last year, and I have been playing either solitaire (where I play both sides) or vs. the AI. I have been using the NKVD security regiments to block the Finns at their "no attack" lines. I just upgraded to 1.06.06, and in a soliaire game I am in the NKVD security ...

RE: How do you use support ships?

I believe AS (sub tenders) also allow your subs to reload their torpedos from the AS instead of going back to a big port to get reloaded.

And yes, seaplane tenders do add to the bases maintenance rating (for seaplanes) if the tender is docked or in port.

RE: Force Z sucide Run

<t> I have always thought the "Force Z bugout" strategy was bogus. Historically, these ships were sent to Singapore precisely to break up Japanese landings in the area. Nobody at the time suspected that the Japanese could successfully launch torpedo bombers over a distance of 400-500 miles, and it ...

I should say that I downloaded the commercial 1.32 patch before I started my current AI game.

So back playing the game and I noticed a couple glitches

<t> So, after a putting this game aside for about 18 months I thought I would come back and give it another try.<br/>
<br/>
First off, I have to say I like the improved AI. I've played my current AIgame into November/December 1917 and the AI is not as good as a PBEM opponent, but I can no longer ...

RE: esteban (Japan) against fdeutsch (Allies) : alternative strategy with historical means

<t> Yes, we are calling the game in late May, 1944 after 3 years of play. The Allies control Apamama in the Gilberts, most of the Solomons, lower New Guinea up through Lae and Finschafen and the islands directly north from Darwin, including Kai Island. The Allies are stalled at Kai Island, where the ...

<t> I agree that 36 strength "A quality" U.S. corps are WAY&nbsp;too powerful.&nbsp; Basically they function as <br/>

Best to make them 28-30 strength B Quality units and to have them give the Brits and French a morale boost when they show up.&nbsp; Maybe make the 1st corps an A ...

So why should I buy CC: WaR?

<t> I used to own pretty much all the old Close Combat series, including Market Garden, Russian Front, Battle of the Bulge and Normandy. However, over time the games got dated. I also found that the AI was way too easy to beat.<br/>

Hi,<br/>

I did some testing on this in stock and found that expansion costs 100 supply, 10 HI and 10 Manpower per factory point. The manual is incorrect here as it states that it only costs 1 HI and 1 Manpower.<br/>

Another reason to change the costs of factory construction/repair in AE

<t> We all know that in WitP it costs 100 supply and a few manpower/industry points to build a factory point, and 1000 supply to repair that factory point so that it is operational. I posted 2-3 months back that this should be inverted so that factory points were expensive to build but relatively ...

RE: Should the "Zero" Bonus be retained?

<t> I'd argue yes on keeping the Zero bonus. Its a reflection of the bull-headed Allied command not taking the Japanese air force serously, and ignoring Chennaults advice on how to beat these aircraft in combat.<br/>

But since it only lasts for 4 months and it winds down a lot the last month ...
