Dividing USN squadrons.

My installed version of the game doesn't have any divide unit buttons on the USN fighter, dive bomber and torpedo units.
I was wondering if this is the same situation for other players? If this is something that only I seem to be dealing with can some one suggest a fix?

Any suggestions like key in ...

New video series on RN strategy in the Indian Ocean.

You tube poster Drachinifel has a new video covering the Royal Navy plans for operations in the Indian Ocean starting in the 1920's and running through till mid 1942. This is the first of a 2 part series that covers operations by Britain there into 1945. It covers a wide range of topics regarding ...

Operation Hailstone video

You tube naval historian Drachinifel has posted a video covering the USN raids on Truk during February 16-17 1944.
There is a lot of good map information and photos of the air operations.

execute their planned interception and night battle with the Japanese fleet carrier group during the Indian Ocean

Scouting plane usage.

Should scouting task forces be either moving at low speed or ...

RE: September

Are you playing with historic East front reinforcements? If so then any roadblocks that could be erected have to be taken from out of the flanking fronts in Belgium and Austria, which is possible only if the rail net is largely intact.

RE: August: Pursuit Phase

Looking like a potential main thrust strategy south of the Ardennes this time? The rail repair units usually stuck in Italy would be available to get the railways hooked up from from the south up to Alsace, but could this effort be supported without the quick capture of Antwerp?

RE: Battle of France - July

<t> The last series of posts really underlined the difference of this game with WiTE; namely the smaller number of units available to each side. The area between the Seine and Loire rivers would be roughly the same length as Army Group Center on the east front, but each side fields maybe one half to ...

RE: Unwelcome visitors to France

<t> I wonder if we will be seeing something along the lines of pre 1914 military defensive theory over the next turns. Namely a system of fortified hubs or regions which can serve as anchor points for mobile operations by field units. How a system like this is sited to cover key rail hubs and major ...

RE: Wish List

<t> Two areas that would be great to improve in the game:<br/>

1. Increased political costs for demoting some of the more politically well connected incompetents such as Butler, Banks or Polk. This would truly reflect some of the problems of dealing with political issues for both the USA and ...

Thanks for the information; I wasn't able to get a clear idea from the game manual, only broad hints as to what blockades were doing to the southern economy.

River naval builds?

Can proper blue water ships be used in the major rivers? Does it make sense to have shipyards on the Mississippi to produce frigates and fleet containers, or are river gunboats the only ships that can be used there?

<t> Those are good lists providing guidelines for names. FOF does the "inertia" problem right!

<t> This game has the whole issue of battlefield "inertia" simulated correctly. Actually getting your troops to move where you want and when you want is never a sure thing; its either bad weather or muddled generals that undo all those creative operational schemes you carefully thought up. This ...

RE: Ideas for handling "a Swarm of Conferderates"?

<t> Looking forward to that patch even more. But obviously the best Northern mobilization plan has to be worked out. I'm getting more aggresive on musters, and trying to also build units in the most efficient manner possible for some "quality" in the army as a whole. I've read elsewhere that the AI ...
