Re: Fighters do not engage enemy bombers

Have you tried a small size AS mission just on the hex you want to protect? I suspect while AS improves interception chances these chances are still spread out over the size of the target. More hexes in scope equals less benefit maybe?

Re: Disproportionate losses for LW

There does seem to be something baked in for P47-D and P51-D aircraft to cause disproportionate losses against the LW. I tried setting up a test scenario using similar experience and morale with the TA152 vs both. Sometimes results came out with a slight edge for the TA152, other times the TA152 got ...

Re: Fighters do not engage enemy bombers

Flying air super missions as Axis seems to improve interceptions but yes - they are still hit and miss...maybe that is historical?

Re: Reconstituted Unit Morale Gain

Proximity to an HQ with high morale is important if you want morale to climb significantly. It sounds like PG 90 isn’t far off the default national morale level. Put it close to an HQ unit with a leader who has a morale level of 8 or 9 and you will see a decent climb.

Re: What a great game it is!

Great question! Seems arbitrary so maybe there was some unintended behaviour on turn one that was solved with adding some disabled men.

Re: German Local Air Supremacy

Found that there seems to be a big difference in results for the LW between automatic intercepts and Air Superiority missions.

Planned Air Super missions seem to do better - possibly because they are planned at a higher alt and less likely to get bounced.

Re: Axis port supply not working April 1944

Found it!

I had run out of cargo ships in the Med - I was trying to maintain too many ports by sea in areas that were contested. Found cargo ships in my casualty reports and realised they were all gone.

Re: Ths game is a fantasy unfortunately

Hello, not quite sure I'm following what point you're trying to make. Do you mind clarifying a few things?

Are you saying that the air war in the game is important but not decisive on it's own? If so, isn't that pretty well aligned to what happened historically? Yes some of the air war proponents ...

Re: Axis port supply not working April 1944

There was some allied NI arround some of the ports but even the ones free of NI and able to trace a path back to the big supply ports weren't drawing any supply. I think it has something to do with cargo ships being unavailable later in the war...

Hello, I managed to retake the Italian mainland as Germans. I am aware that axis rail repair in Southern Italy doesn't work but port supply doesn't seem to be working either. I still have 8 cargo ships left so not sure why?

Re: Beginer plays for the first time and begs for help

Yes, yes i have read Players Handbook, and I am in the middle of reading this tutorials, there is lot of them. But players handbook didn't answer why I am losing air war every time. In fact there are no problems with other air forces. It is Tactical Air Force and it's ground attack missions that ...

Re: Beginer plays for the first time and begs for help

"Det" after the unit name in the window above is the detection level - 10 is the highest and should give you this pop up intel

Re: Beginer plays for the first time and begs for help

Isn't this dependent on recon levels? If you have no recon then no intel on assets - good intel gives you the pop up on enemy units?

What does Defense: Number mean on the pop up?

On the pop up display there is a Defense: Number that shows up. Does anyone know what this means?

Re: Problem with Air Interdiction

Interesting. I read elsewhere that large level bombers are great for things that can't move. Tactical bombers for things that can move. So non-tactical planes from the UK may not be that helpful.

For the tactical bombers did you check the load outs? Not sure that auto does a great job. Some of ...

Re: Axis naval air is too powerful

Just checking, in your game are the allies flying aggressive air superiority missions over the amphib zones? Agressively bombing Axis airfields? Would have thought it would be difficult for the Germans to sustain much if these two are being done with intensity...

Victory Screen Allied Stats

Hi All,

Just finished a 43 campaign as Germans. Is there a way that I can see the allied stats at the end of the game?

Playing as Allies you get to see Germany but I can't figure out the other way arround.

Thanks

German Local Air Supremacy

Hello,

Trying to gain local air superiority as the LW in late 1944. Seems like very quickly the results turn when the p51d arrives. A few questions:

1) Is there any way to stop your planes from joining in ground support automatically other than setting them to rest or out of range?

2) Is there ...

Re: Bob Pilot Losses

Thanks Mark,

I get your point about pilots on the ground taking shelter during raids, however replicating pilot losses through air combat is still difficult because of the other two factors that I've listed.

Bailing out over water was extremely hazardous with large numbers of pilots drowning ...

Bob Pilot Losses

Hi All, have come back for another go at Bob as Germans and I've noticed that UK pilot losses have been greatly reduced.

Destroying or damaging ready aircraft at take-off status hardly ever causes pilot injury or death.
Pilots shot down and killed seems to be the exception with most injured or ...
