<t> Paladin, you may be thinking about the RAF Bomber Command death rates, which iirc were higher--*by percentage*--than any single arm (i.e., armor, fighters, subs) in that country's armed forces. 55,564 dead men, 51% of the 110,000 Bomber Command aircrew.<br/>

RE: Feasibility of eary Australia Invasion

I don't really see an invasion of India as being impossible, just requiring a completely different kind of East Asian Co-Prosperity Sphere than the one that existed.

Sort of like a Nazi occupation policy that didn't exist might have been better for the German war effort.

RE: Feasibility of eary Australia Invasion

<t> In a recent pbem game that ended in concession before I could do it, I was going to invade Darwin and possibly some eastern Australian bases once I was able to redeploy troops from China (I didn't conquer China, but I'd basically destroyed their ability to conduct offensive ops).<br/>

You "have to" select a friendly city for the units to move. No guaranteeing that they won't move toward the enemy though, because they follow the quickest route to the base and don;t take into account enemy LCUs.[8|][X(]

RE: What i am doing wrong?

The inability to command an orderly retreat even into friendly ZOCs is mind-boggling--apparently you have to either win, lose, or be stuck there forever?

I suppose I could be doing something wrong, but the order to withdraw always seems reset to a defensive state.

What was the first allied plane to use radar, off the top of my head I cant remember.

Some iteration of a Bristol Beaufighter, if I recall. I believe a few were equipped with AI radar in late 1940.

The failure to kill those APs just sounds like bad luck--usually CVs are the best commerce raiders around. Which can be kind of a problem when an enemy air combat group is around, since your own CVs will still semi-randomly launch at unthreatening enemy task ...

RE: This game desperately needs some more reports.

Hiya Berk.

No direct reports for when units appear in a PBEM, but you can usually tell from the intelligence screen and the reinforcements subsection.
