Sound issue: old & new versions

<t> I have no sound in either the original version of Admiral's Edition or in the latest update. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game. The sound in Gary Grigsby's War in the East works properly as does the sound in TOAW. I also reinstalled my sound driver without any effect.<br/>

I'll take a game (as Allies) Sea Lion or Fall of France.
(or against anyone else if too many volunteers have come forward for the moment)

Rating: beginner in this game

RE: A New 105 Update

I just wanted to say that I have been very impressed by the commitment of Matrix Games and the development team to this game. I don't remember many other companies that have made that kind of commitment to ongoing revisions and improvements.

AI in 1.04 and other issues

<t> Hello,<br/>
<br/>
I tried scenario Soviet Alamo as the West Germans vs. Soviet AI.<br/>
The Soviet AI attacked on the first turn, and were wiped out completely.<br/>
<br/>
As I see it this scenario strongly favors the West German player, particularly against the computer. What is the ...

Reactions to v1.03

<t> I played Clash of the Titans again under 1.03 (as the US vs the AI) and I noticed that the computer used three different avenues of attack. I was still able to beat the computer handily, but I think that it was a bit more challenging.<br/>
<br/>
I would like to raise one possibility that has ...

<t> CommC,<br/>
<br/>
I tried the Thin Blue Line Scenario as WP vs NATO AI (in 1.02) and experienced the NATO charge into WP defenses. Very strange. The computer did not leave any defenses in the objective town and I was able to walk in, essentially.<br/>

Different scenarios may have ...

RE: AI Soviet Tank Rush

<t> Erik,<br/>
<br/>
Thanks for the information. My view has been that AI serves as training for head to head play primarily. <br/>
<br/>
The only other puzzle is whether such widespread minefield dispersion was possible. I'm not in a position to know the answer to that. <br/>
<br/>
Thanks for ...

AI Soviet Tank Rush

<r> I was still able to achieve a decisive victory relatively easily vs the AI in Soviet Tank rush in 1.02. <br/>
<br/>
Is this common?<br/>
<br/>
Strategy simply involved a lot of minefields, north, south, and east of the town.<br/>

Result attached.<br/>

RE: Kudos to Matrix and 2by3 - Army Air Force Officer

<t> Thanks for the info. I knew which unit he was attached to, the 71st Tactical Reconnaissance Group (Sams commanding officer, later promoted to command and Colonel). I dug up an old book, history of the 71st Tactical Reconnaissance Group recently as well. I must say that it is very impressive that ...

RE: Kudos to Matrix and 2by3 - Army Air Force Officer

<t> Well, I'm not that invested in it. It is just a game. Besides, I do have the service records, etc. But, it was a bit surreal to see a family member listed in a game. That has never happened to me before. <br/>

I do wonder how these leadership numbers are computed now. Is there a ...

RE: The challenge factor or the lack of it in certain scenarios

<r> Chelco,<br/>
<br/>
What's interesting here is that one basic problem with WP vs. NATO scenarios may be, as suggested earlier, a question of numbers. Assuming that those ratios are true, approx. a 3:1 kill ratio, then balanced scenarios would need to reflect that kill ratio in order to be ...
