You lose two CVs and a DD and you think that's somehow not within the realm of possibility?
Not in any game that I intend to play......

Not sure I understand the problem re Force Z. It has to be a non-historical game for Japan to play for Mersing on turn 1; are there really Japanese players out there who start a non-historical game and try to insist that the allied player can't ...

It is highly gamey to land at Mersing on Turn One. The Japanese player must, with any realism at all, start at least 8-10 hexes away. British Recon would have picked them up as they did the other TF moving into the area and responded.

<t> The Mershing road exploit (for lack of a better word for now). Missing from WITP stock, or CHS (Brown) is the ability to cut the Malay peninsula in half and prevent an orderly retreat of the Commonwealth troops to Singapore. In AE (Brown) JFB's can land en masse at Mershing, then send a couple ...

I have not seen an intercept when I set a destination hex. Instead of setting the destination, what you want to do is set the place you want to go to as the first boundry of your patrol zone. No need to set other boundries, just that one will do ...

I've been doing some testing of this for an upcoming video tutorial and I've not had many problems - this doesn't mean that it always works as intended - and I prefer it that way too ... 100% intercept might be overkill

They mine the hex with one or more subs. I think it's even built into the AI first move.
Enough to sink or severly damage a dozen subs? Anyway, that's new. Good to know.

Certainly. If you want to play a non-standard opening (i.e., not hit PH with the KB) as the Japanese or if you want to correct the known errors in the initial set-up. It is polite to tell your opponent (perhaps in general terms) what you did.
