Re: TRP - Total Realism Project for War in Europe (1.6.8b Download)

My one criticism of the mod is this:

After a few turns, Germany will have easily invested in every tech which is of interest. For the rest of the game, it is only a matter of reinvesting when one completes. There are no real decisions here at all.

The same criticism cannot be made for any of the ...

Re: TRP - Total Realism Project for War in Europe (1.6.8b Download)

Thank you. I should have realized that. Something about the wording of the message made me think it was not a loop hex.

Re: TRP - Total Realism Project for War in Europe (1.6.8b Download)

For the most part, I am enjoying this mod.

However, in spite of the note near Suez which states that neutral transports are allowed to pass through, the Italians were not allowed to transport a leader through the canal prior to joining the war.

extreme RNG on air hitting troop transports

<t> In general the ability of air to hit ships is pretty marginal in this game. Planes can fail to find fleets at sea or in port repeatedly and only do slight damage when they manage to be successful.<br/>
<br/>
In contrast to that, air units will often fail entirely to hit troops transports ...

RE: Russian Aircraft won't stay set to "Mission Only"

It was not when neutral, because when neutral I would not have cared and had no reason to change modes. It was only when aircraft had taken heavy losses that I tried to set them to mission only so that they could avoid some losses.

RE: Russian Aircraft won't stay set to "Mission Only"

I am certain it is nothing to do with version and updates.

It is probably a matter of taking certain actions in a certain order and that being something that you are not doing the same way.

RE: Early Russia gives axis too much advantage

If it is late 41 before Russia is getting infantry 2, that is some shaky prioritizing of early game Russian MPP. That research needs to be started ASAP and kept rolling at all costs.

The ability of ships to leave port breaks for various reasons

<t> There are many situation in which the game will not allow ships to leave port who should be allowed to do so.<br/>
<br/>
Often this happens because ships which are out of supply enter port. Following that, ones which were already there are not allowed to leave even if only they are selected ...

RE: China Dilemma

<t> I think the most important thing for you to do (on both fronts since May '41 is quite late for a French surrender), is to learn the details of the supply system and how HQ units can help. Couple that with learning some of the combat modifiers (such as a unit attacks better if it has not moved ...

RE: A Puzzler

<t> Yes, the major victory is only the second highest victory level. You can either accept their surrender or push on hoping for a decisive victory. In PBEM games, the Allied player gets the option of whether or not to offer that surrender. This last point may seem meaningless in the face of many ...

<t> Yes, I found this need to change the default mode of carriers to be one of the least obvious and most frustrating aspects of the interface when first learning the game. I still sometimes forget to change it when a new carrier reinforcement enters.<br/>

I think it would have been better ...

<t> As the Allied player in that game, I can tell you that Churchill probably lost his job in 1941. Since then Britain has only held Scotland. This of course triggered Spanish entry into the Axis, followed by the fall of Gibraltar and Portugal. Gibraltar more than anything gives him the freedom to ...

It is about more than what can currently deploy. He wants to plan ahead and to review what he has coming.
