I was about to make snide remarks about his toothless Kates until he said that! [:'(]

Say that to Saratoga who had more bombs in her than the Schweinfurt Kugelfischer Plant did during the entire war[;)]

disapointing.

I actually anticipated that Speedy was heading to Normeau and postioned my carriers in response to it. Unfortunately i'd forgotten about the range 5 tactic (which appears to prevent carrier reaction) I recall Rroberson getting killed in similar fashion recently.

[:D] Another of those laugh out loud at work moments. Fortunately there're only a couple of people here to look at me like I have two heads.[:D]

I think he holds the record for the number of ways he has lost his carriers.[:D]

Don't know about that anymore. I lost 4 CV's against Bombur too...similar but not exactly the Range 5 tactic.

In Auckland? Don't the women have white fur and long noses there? Or am I confusing it with Wales? [:D]

27/28th June 1942

Post by Speedysteve »

Hi all,

As expected after the last climatic couple of days these are much quieter. KB is retiring to refuel and then we have some fun [8D]

--------------

Over the past 2 days Singkep Island, Toboali and Dili, on Timor are taken.

--------------

No real air actions other than B17's from Noumea trying to bomb Shokaku, near Luganville, returning to IJN waters for a bit of repair.

--------------

An I-boat had some fun on 28th probably sinking AK Vermont 1/3 of the way from PH to San Francisco. Here's the action:

Sub attack at 119,62

Japanese Ships
SS I-27

Allied Ships
AK Vermont, Torpedo hits 2, on fire, heavy damage

Allied ground losses:
79 casualties reported
Guns lost 1

pffff....

Sorry...... don't have another 4 carriers to offer up as sacrificial meat to your RANGE 5 EXPLOIT.

Axis Fanboy nonsense i say. I wasn't to blame! I'll get em next time. [:'(]
