And now for somethign completely different

Post by Veers »

New bug to report. Had some flak entrained last turn and they got attacked this turn. One I proceeded to move off the track, not knowing it was entrained, and now look, 57 of out 120 MP! The flak unit one hex south west, that is routed, is also reading abnormally high MP.

I will report later today or tomorrow what happens next turn(as it is a PBEM match).

Ohhh, also, as a feature request, maybe in a future version we can have a button that highlights all entrained units on the map, as I, for one, alwasy seem to have to roam all over to find that one entrained unit whose position I forgot. :)

This is an old bug from CoW, and before. We didn't bother with fixing this, because it will go away when we take care of P1/P2 asymmetries. Currently, your situation occurs when you are P2, and your entrained units are attacked by P1 during his turn. If the hit is hard enough to disembark them, but not enough to rout them, then their MP's are based on the entrained rate, rather than their normal movement rate. MP costs that are % based are scaled appropriately, so they have difficulty making any real headway into enemy terrain, but their movement in friendly terrain gets a bit of a boost.

Check out the '.' key in the documentation. It pretty much does that.

Love is not a strong enough word for how I feel about you. [:D] [&o]...or was this in ACOW, as well? :)

Nah...it's one of those new features that we stuffed TOAW III with, to convince people how much it's worth buying, even if you did already spend your pizza money of years past on previous editions of TOAW...[:D]

I, in fact, only owned ACOW, so not all my money was spent. :)

I bought the game for two things, the Turn Used/Combats planned feature, and the chance to see TOAW get even better with future additions. [:)]

OK, I'll bite. When do you plan on fixing the the P1/P2 asymmetries? Is that already in the release schedule? It's just that you sound very sure that you will be fixing it.

Estimate for this major revision of the engine is 6-12 months, depending upon how many things we break along the way and how long it takes to test it all. First, we're going to iron out release bugs, before we start tearing into the system.
