PH was about average its always worse than historical, bad luck/oops with the 2nd day zeros.
Could you piccie the philipines pls. I have to say CHS is a bit differant from stock
in many ways. I know neither of you can discuss strategy here as its a joint AAR. but
i believe both sides get some v nice fast AP's ( ex ocean liners iirc). It'll be interesting to see
how you use them.
and port attack Hong Kong ? naughty [;)].. Mainilla raid was quite good/average and as
no damaged a/c get reported now i'd not expect much opposition here for now. and any dead B17
is a good result [:D] ( especially if they don't get replacements ).. hehe
have fun !
sorry for the spelling . English is my main language , I just can't type . and i'm too lazy to edit
Well...those dive-bombers were set to Port Attack HK from Canton by scenario default so I just let them...[8D]. I'll get a pics of the map later to show the main attacks without showing too much intel to Aztez..[:'(]
Kind of sucks to lose several Zeros because of lil bit of mishap in PH, just right now bit tight with A6M2 replacements even when their production is increased. 2-day turns can do that. I don't intent to have mercy on my poor pilots though, they fly were they 35 exp or 80...[:D][:'(]

I'd guessed as much,I just like causing trouble [;)] .

2 days turns are a blessing and a curse, but you do have to be extra careful as bad moves get
punished worse but good ones reap twice the reward ( if that makes any sense)

Did drop Paratrooper-trained SNLF there...nice to see they work as designed...[:D]
You sound surprised... [;)]
Good luck to both players, it'll be interesting to compare the different approaches in all those CHS AARs in this forum!
As for posting screenshots without confidential data: I made a CHS planning map with base flags some weeks ago and posted it in the scenario forum - it didn't generate much interest. But maybe you two can use it. Here's the link:
I will post couple of screenies tonight. Just got the turn run and Sardaukar is definately up to no good at Philippines! [:-]
PH could have been worse but his attack was not a total disaster either. I cannot reveal the extend of the damage but those Japanese pilots were sober enough to hit allied shipping there! [:D]
I have couple of suprises brewing for him in ******** and ******** (You can guess those empty spots! [:D])
These will become obvious soon enough.
I was actually worried that Manila would have been target. Those submarines will cause Sardaukar headache and yes they will deploy immediately ofcourse.
It was kind of sad to loose Wake Island but that is a good POW camp for Japanese troops which I will deal later! [;)]
I will post more later tonight but duty calls... dipers and a dog... what a combination!
Great! So it's true: advertisment is all that matters...
The best thing is: with 2 day turns, you will be ahead of my game in no time! Then I can copy all your successful strategies... [:)]
...and avoid your failures. [;)]

'Tis true: fast ocean liners, AMCs, heavily armed AKs... My advice to both players: take a close look at all your different transport classes, there are some gems to be found.
VSWG: I really do enjoy multiday turns. Those will make the game go a faster pace and also it allows some unexpected things to happen. Since you cannot micromanage everything.
I'am still looking at the diffrent ship types. Their load values are quite diffrent than in "vanilla".
[:D] ...I will propably show you how not to play CHS campaigns!!! [:D]
Rob: Eherm... [:-] [:D][:D][:D] ...At least I wohn't admit that those laws exist! [;)] [:D]
This is picture of the "turn" coming from Pacific.
I decieded to take it from Philippines and Borneo area were most of landings took place. Also some 13 allied ships were lost in turn 1. Most of them in South China Sea.
No japanese landings at san marco in the PI .. i'll have to remember that and remedy it for our game [;)]. unless theres a shed load of new troops there.
Otherwise looks like a good japanese 1st turn, securing the big airfields.. might have left Brunei alone so allies cannot bomb it too early. Does CHS stockpile oil like the vanilla game if the allies can't ship it out ?
also a question to sadukar . what is japans need for oil and resources in CHS ? does china/manchuria need oil ? same goes for some of the outlying northern japanese bases. Also formosa? I could fire it up and have a look but i'm way too lazy for that, as i suspect you have already done the math [;)]

[:D] ...San Marco will always have a loads troops there Rob! [:-]
Yeah, Sardaukar did secure some good airfields around Philippines and DEI. Allthough, I have mined them all and his aircrafts will soon find this out! [:D] Another thing is that I recruited the local populations so he will have guerilla warfare on his hands too! [;)]
What I have seen is that oil stockpiles are not nearly as much in "vanilla". You do not have excess amount of it.
Yeps, Flak is dangerous in CHS 2.08 Experimental. Bit dangerous to try to attack heavily defended bases..especially with dive bombers. And lot of damaged planes don't make it back if flying from long distance. Bad for Japanese.

Yeah. Those AA units are now actually very valuable due to improved flak. It is not going to be pleasant to launch offensives againts heavily fortified bases.
I did setup 2 small suprises for Sardaukar last turn. Hopefully those did not backfire! [:D]
