Definately great job. We have been playing with scenario 160 (Experimental) and it has been great fun.

Great job with CHS, it rocks the PBEM world. Unfortunately you can not play against the AI using it. The AI simply can not compute the new extended map and other great aspects of your mod.

Q

Actually been playing CHS 2.08 against IJ AI too and it's doing decent job (May 42 so far). It won't attacks some bases like Aden or Panama City, but then, it shouldn't. Also played as IJ vs Allied till March 42 and to my surprise Allied AI was better. Well, AI always does better when defending, though.

Andrew,

Just downloaded 2.08 scenarios and was curious as to why 2.07 zip folders are included inside the 2.08 zips? What are these for and what do we do with these?...Thanks!

Hmmm. Maybe I made a mistake when I zipped up the files? I will check it out when time permits (maybe a week or two from now...).

Question:

Why does the CHS 2.08 scenario 155 file, contain a zip file for CHS 2.07?

I assume you are using the latest base package (2d)? if so I am not sure what the problem is as the art for those ships looks OK to me. I will have to take a look in-game to see whether there is a problem.

Andrew

Hi Andrew, yes I am using 2d. Just done a full reinstall and this time the ships are appearing. Install order was exactly the same but I did redownload the files (from exactly the same mirrors too). Wondering whether something has glitched in cyberspace? Certainly was odd that it only seemed to effect a handful of ships.

Did you use Andrew's install utility on one and not the other. I did that and found that the install utililty somehow installs things properly whereas a manual install apparently doesn't always work.

Hi Andrew - thanks for all the work you've done on CHS - the maps and scenarios are great, I'll never go back to stock.

Couple of questions about engine/aircraft production.

At the start Nissan (100) and Toyoda (80) engines are being produced according to the little summary you get when you open the engine production screen for a hex.  These seem in fact to be the Adv MT and Adv NA engines.

However when you open the aircraft production screen for a hex to get the list of all possible planes you could change production to, many do call for a Nissan or Toyoda engine (eg the Shinden, although in the aircraft/equipment database it requires an Adv-something-or-other).

Is this just a feature of how the slots work (and so there will be no problem producing the later aircraft) or could it cause problems with late war production?

Also (sent email about this and thought I would include it here just for anyone else) are there any squadrons that can use/upgradeto the G5N Liz in Scen 157 (or any other scen)?

Thanks

Some Betties and Nells can upgrade to Liz at least in Scen 160.

Right I got them, two squadrons seem to be able to upgrade. I assumed the PDU was not sqaudron dependant, just plane dependant, so I only checked one of each type. Thanks for the pointer.

Under CHS v2.08, but this was probably from an earlier version: the Canadian AMC class has the low capacity, decent armament and high speed of an APD, but since it is classified in the scenario as an AP it can't be used in a fast transit TF. I probably missed the discussions on this so very long ago.

I'll just have to let them sit in Vancouver until I have enough of them to carry some small LCU...
