Yea, was trying to mod some things...and also play against AI... To my dismay, I had things like divisions teleport from TF back to Aden etc. after sailing for week and so. Not to mention I discovered that some bases switch of from building no matter what...[X(][:@]. Kinda fed up to discover new uncanny BS in every WitP game...

Hmpf. That is one of the main reasons why I haven't even bothered with Witp editor [:(]

That really is bullshit as you said! [8|]

Not to mention one can easily destroy weeks of work in one's scenario because of totally unwieldy editor that just have a habit to move every slot one forward or back when trying to insert stuff... I cannot imagine what kind of editors folks are used to when they can use that one....

Hi guys

nice piccie , we need more and i like the conversational stuff, frankly i havnt the patience to trawl through the combat report as im a lazy git [;)] , so summaries=good ! ..

Sardukar what are you trying to do with your mod ? maybe you can get some more informed feedback or help in the mod forum , if you havn't already. and you can't be serious about wishing you never had WitP even with its faults you seem keen to play it [:D]
sorry for the spelling . English is my main language , I just can't type . and i'm too lazy to edit :)

Well, extent of frustration with WitP is quite extreme time to time. I'm just trying to experiment with different ways to simulate air-to-air combat and ship/sub radars etc. Testing goes well, but when I play against AI recreationally (for example CHS2.08) I tend to find new weird stuff that WitP engine does quite regularly. Now the CHS A2A model is fine...it's just that Ground and Economic/Supply models shows it's flaws again...and again...and.. You get the drift from that...[:'(]

It sounds like you would want to hammer "something"...  [:D][:D]

I think that Economy/Supply models are beyond salvation... [8|]

Ron is trying something new in his new AAR though.

About only things that work in WitP the way that doesn't make me angry are A-to-A now in this scenario and part of Naval combat. This game doesn't suit well for casual gaming...and when playing it seriously all the faults surface. And then I lose the "suspension of disbelief".

Recently I noticed that 1.8.00.1 nerfed IJ air-ASW out of existence. Just cannot get 80+ exp flying boats and level bombers get attacks against Allied subs no matter what... Catalinas attack mine from similar distances all the time..and I know they are not as experiences..yet. I dread when we get to 4/42 and US subs get SD radar...my invention to CHS even...[X(] That should make them even more invulnerable...

I think it's yet another hard-coded BS-thing. What I have seen is that with every patch, "pendulum" seems to swing from one extreme to another...[:@] In next patch I fully expect to see subs being again too vulnerable...[8|]

I really should shelve this game for year or 2 and check it then again. It just annoys me a lot nowadays.

Back to PBEM game:

Things are locked in China, except that IJA is slowly trying to get rid of those Chinese Guerilla units.
In Philippines things go slowly too. And my troops just reached the Moulmein in Burma..so not quite a blitzgrieg there too. This map and scenario is very hard for Japan, forcing very slow advance.
I have some "dashing" naval moves planned for near future, though....[:'(]

My PBY Catalinas do "reportedly" strike againts submarines but I doubt they do any damage though! [:(]

The big battles are just coming in Philippines. I have plenty of supplies stockpiled in every major base in Central Pacific. So, it is not going to be pretty! [;)]

Sardaukar is active in China and I will try to the same. Those guerilla regiments can be really annoying for him and they cannot be wiped out easily! [:D]

I decieded to include a screenshot from aircraft losses. Flak has downed quite a few ac's in this CHS scenario. As it should have so Í think these are quite reasonable.

Im having the total opposite experience with 1.8.01 far from nerfing jap asw a/c regular sally/lily attacks on my subs at sea while even high exp hudsons are useless.

Actually FDR is killing my submarine fleet with his ASW efforts and TF's. I have had to withdrawn from the vicinity of Japan. This ofcourse is stock PBEM but we are using the latest patch though! [:)]

Weird...had several air units on ASW/Naval Search at 2000 ft and never got hits in this game... Even more strange is that it's different in other game I play against AI where I regularly hit enemy subs...[X(] Aztez has gotten hits in this game, just not killing hits.

Not a turn without glitches. Getting tired to reset units after they have moved 75 km of 60 km...and never arrive.[:@]
This is quickly turning to a chore and not fun. Just checked that I have 100+ planes flying ASW/Naval Search with 100 % at 2000 ft. So far have had 1 attack and 0 hits from game start...all on area that is crawling with Allied subs since my ASW TFs find them daily. Exp varies from 78 to 82. They also fly since mission count increases. Donno what is the matter since during same time Aztez air ASW has hit 7-8 subs...and those 250-pounders Catalinas use in ASW do hurt subs. Just cannot get why the IJNAAF/IJAAF air ASW is not working in this game. Half of the IJN sub fleet is already in repairs even when losses have been few.

Well... I do not know any change made to CHS that'd benefit Japan...[:'(]...I'd call this an Allied-fanboy's wet dream...[:D] Probably will not be able to take anything closely what Japan did historically. CHS probably needs *way* more experienced Japanese player than I am.

About only good thing is that Chinese *will* run out of supplies south and east of those big rivers after their added integral supply is used.
