Hi, Oleg keep your eye on AAR between DPStafford and myself. I just ordered my units to move into Singapore. I've never had a problem because of shock attack.

Hey I am reading this (you didn't say you want me out) - let me believe it was three divisions loaded on those transports [:D]

Mog I believe you - you're Darth Vader of land combat. I think it was the old AAR about China operations against Svein (of all people) that made me apreciate your land combat skillz fully.

I just wanted to explain "genesis" of my own Singapore operation - it wasn't initially devised as jump off point for India, and I would never do it if it wasn't for my own disappointment with auto shock attack results (which may or may not apply to other players).

Allied SETREP, 01/05/42

After the initial surprise attacks, the war has naturally slowed down
a bit. The Pacific itself, and Australia, have been completely quiet -
no Japanese moves at all. In DEI, the important bases have all ben
captured, except for Java and Sumatra which are still in Dutch hands.
Dutch pilot occasinally land a few bombs in enemy vessels.

Malaya and Burma are completely in Japanese hands. No significant
Allied forces escaped. So far there have been no moves towards India.

China has seen the most action so far. After an initial probe at
Yenen, the Japanese have gone on the offensive. The Chinese have
started "training" attacks, which - although costly in human life -
have given some much needed practical experience (participating units
are almost all at 60+ experience).

Allied high command considers the DEI lost, India under grave danger,
Australia and it's lifeline safe, and China as safe and indeed a
potential area for offensives (most likely from the air).

having lost India in my PBEM game, the one mistake i made was not moving all land forces to Karachi at the 1st sign of Indias demise...If you can mass over 3000 AV there....should be impossible for him to take.

My only approach to India at this stage will be to minimize the VPs he can get there. Thanks for the tip on Karachi, will try it. I'm worried about receiving ships there that only serve as free VPs to Japan though.

ships arriving at Karachi while its being besieged is a problem...no doubt. In my game, my oppenant and I came up with a house rule that stated..."any ship that arrived at Karachi is to be given a free pass down to Australia, but must be sent to San Francisco before it can be used."

is India really at a loss at this point though?....only 50,000 enemy troops are ashore it seems.
