Oh come now, Mr. Penguin, do you really need 3 Divisions and a tank regiment to take Mandalay?

Perhaps not......but I'd rather have them killing your troops....than marching round in circles in the Malaria ridden jungle.......

True. And I do feel your pain. But even with a 2 week delay you'll still have India on a silver platter. There's nobody there.

What info? All he need to do is load the Allied side to see what I have. (EDIT: We're only at 1/2/42) As good as he is, he probably has the entire allied OOB memorized. [:)]

You do NOT walk underwater! You swim in an unusually goofy, oscilating manner. I saw that on Discovery Chanel so it must be true. If youre gonna spread misinformation, at least make it less obvious (ie...someone at the Penguin Propaganda Headquarters should be shot and/or demoted).

I got no turn from Faber since last night and at first thought nothing of it. That is until I realized that British penguins so not celebrate Labor Day. [&:]

In other news, nothing major has happened. There is sporatic air action in the DEI and PNG as well as China. I now have RAF bombers hitting Rangoon (which was reclared an open city and was occupied about a week back). Results are nothing to write home about, but it will probably help the XP some.

The most desperate and heartbreaking actions are taking place in Malaya and Rabaul. In Malaya, my forces have retreated from Malacca, moving to secondary defensive lines in and around Johore Bharu. Mors of the units have retreated in good order, but several are hampered by lack of transport, mechanichal breakdows, the state of the roads and shortages of gas. By some reports, Japanese patrols have been spotted attempting to flank the tracks being used for withdrawal.

The other desparate action is taking place at Rabaul. The Australian garrison has been fighting a desperate and ultimately futile fight against a vastly superior enemy. Last turn they again beat off a savage enemy assault. Even though their struggle may ultimately end in defeat, they have forever won their glory and reverence from those who will have to continue the struggle without them.

No new major developments in the last few turns.

One of my subs has finally stuck a fish into one of Fabers APDs that he's had patrolling between Malaya and FIC. Those buggers have caused serious damage to quite a few of my subs already, and I'm glad to see at least one of them get his just deserts. Hope he choked while he ate that torp. As luck would have it, the APD exacted a very heavy price from the brave submarine.

The turn before last Faber started hitting Darwin with Nells escorted by Zeros. The Throwaways that Darwin calls CAP went up and gave it a good shot but accomplished little. I'll have to see about getting some more meaningful CAP there in the next few days.

The magnificent Aussies in Rabaul are still holding out but their strength is waning and they are facing a something like a 4:1 numerical inferiority. The saga should come to a heroic close probably next turn or the one after.

The situation in China is stable. Faber is still bombarding those two cities, but luckily the Chinese seem to be holding firm.

Malaya is going to be touchy. Most of my forces from Malacca have safely made it to Johore. Some units, mostly BFs got caught, but I'm expecting Johore to give Faber a good fight. If I dont, I will be very annoyed, because I think I've done everything I could to make sure that a good fight happens.

Faber's bombers from Jolo have begun to hit back at my USFFE B-17s. They're not causing much damage yet, as I never caused much damage to Jolo, but something may be afoot here.

POLL!!!!!!!
Finally, I wanted to put something up to a democratic vote here. I find that there are a lot of things that I would like to talk about and cant in an "open" AAR. This includes, of course, details of my movements, as well as plans, expectations, thoughts on Faber's next moves, none of which I can talk about here. I realize that this would be very unfair to Faber, who doesnt have the time to maintain his own "side of the story", but then, I'm not even sure he wants to.

So here is the question. Would you guys like to see me start a separate, "closed" AAR where I would be able to share all the juicy details and screenies and such and leave this one as the "banter thread"? I think that maybe the closed one would prove more entertaining both to me and to you guys. What do you think?
