Zeta16 vs Ramjet - To the Bitter End

RE: Zeta16 vs Ramjet - To the Bitter End
Well he have had another few quiet days, but the Japanese army capured Hong Kong and Naga on 12/24-12/25. Also Japanse forces have reached Alor Star and have been pounding the Chinese at Yenen. Baker Island was capured by Japanse troops, but still no sign of the American carriers. Other than that the Japanese are moving slow not try to waste pilots as Zeta16 tries to limit op losses for no reason.

RE: Zeta16 vs Ramjet - To the Bitter End
Well we have gotten to 1/2/42. The Japanese continue to advance all over the place. On the 26th the Japanese took Alor Star and Nanomea Atoll. On the 28th Laoag fell to the advancing Japanese and on the 30th Georgetown fell to the tough Japanese force who continue their advance towards Singapore. Hurricanes and Tomback have to spotted and attacked in Singapore, and it looks like Ramjet has quite a few planes there. On the 2nd of January Japanese forces started an invaison of Kuching. Other than that operation Deep Harbor will start in the next day or so, which will be followed by operation Jessica Simpson.
Here is a screen shot of the score as of 1/2/42.

RE: Zeta16 vs Ramjet - To the Bitter End
I am trying to continue to role play with the Allies. I have moved no ground troops out of the PI as MacArthur will have none of it. I kept the naval units there as long as I could but things got too hot and I withdrew the surface forces after he wasted my PT boats. In SE Asia, I did move a squadron (1/3) from the AVG to Singapore to support the Brits and Aussies. The AVG did historically send a squadron to Rangoon, so I didn't think it too much a stretch to send them to Singapore. In the Pacific I ducked and weaved to avoid the KB while it was in the Eastern Pacific. I made a few raids with my CV's but nothing glorious. I continue to be aggressive with my subs with some level of success. I also have not cut and run in Burma and intend to fight (and die) as long as I can. Now that it is 1942 maybe I can start having a little more success against those zeros. His advance has been steady and controlled, but he is already moving into the Solomon islands where Japanese forces usually wind up digging their graves...
RE: Zeta16 vs Ramjet - To the Bitter End
Well I have not had much to post over the last few game weeks. Lets see The Japanse took Rabaul, and is moving towards Singapore. Japanse forces have meet troops at Clark Field and Manila. Japanse subs are starting to hit home in the Eastern Pacific, but nothing major. Things should start to pick up soon.

RE: Zeta16 vs Ramjet - To the Bitter End
That #$@&$ Zeta16 just sank my Aussie & NZ surface fleet in the Solomon islands. What the hell is the KB doing in the South Pacific this early? What's worse is my intel did not alert me to that fact; they just showed up and wasted about 10 ships. Someday I'll get my revenge, but not this day...
RE: Zeta16 vs Ramjet - To the Bitter End
Yep, I knew they where there as I saw the walrus making reports. KB had been in the area for a few days and was waiting for this carrier task force moving into South Pacific waters from PH, but they turned around after the surface fleet got plastered. KB was covering a movement of troops to Lugna as well as supplies.
Here is the Combat Report from that turn.

RE: Zeta16 vs Ramjet - To the Bitter End
Well I have not been on the boards in over 10 days so here I go. I have taken Singapore, and Plamemban, where more of the Oil was hurt than I wanted. I just have Manlia Baatan in the PI to go and have taken GiliGili and I am moving on PM, I am also moving on Java aand towards Ragoon and north from there. Yes I am a slow mover but I try to limit loses and so forth. I will post some screen shots later today as we need to get this AAR moving.

RE: Zeta16 vs Ramjet - To the Bitter End
Well it's the 3rd of April and took Minala finally, and meet a British carrier force south of Balipakan? and sunk the Hermes and hit the other two carriers. So we will see what happens with 25 beers down tonight.

RE: Zeta16 vs Ramjet - To the Bitter End
I got a lot of attacks in against the KB with my Brit and Dutch air force, but only 2 torp hits so far. Had to have a go at it, didn't realize I was going up against the heavies.
RE: Zeta16 vs Ramjet - To the Bitter End
Well it's been a good time as of late for the Japanese. They have captured Manila, Rangoon, Baatan, Tarakan, and Batavia. KB is still in good shape and the battle for PM is on along witht the move towards Mandalay. There was a big surface battle at batavia this last turn where the British/Dutch/American forces got drilled. The Japanese lost very little while over the day the Allies lost several BB's and crusiers a disgrace for sure in the allied home countries. So here are the results of 4/24/42.

RE: Zeta16 vs Ramjet - To the Bitter End
Nice Work in the Surface battle[:D] i just love those early War DEI surface engagements[;)]

Pinky: Hey Brain what are we goeing to do this evening?
Brain: The Usual Pinky we will try to take over the World;)
RE: Zeta16 vs Ramjet - To the Bitter End
Hey, it was nuts for me to fight, but I'm not the type to run to the edge of the map and shiver and shake. Dutch Adm. Doorman fought hard for his country! He was brave and determined to protect the Dutch colonies with whatever forces he had. He went down on his flag, the De Ruyter, named after another great Dutch admiral. My hats off the the Dutchmen! Not only are they able and competent Sailors but they have some of the best looking babes you will want to look at!

RE: Zeta16 vs Ramjet - To the Bitter End
Yes me to but this is why i droped the stock game... as i understand my butt will be kicked for the first 6 months[:D] but later i should be at least able to do some damage but in stock its impossible as "Death Star" Rules[:D] Any way fighting Surface Engagements in DEI is wise as a lucky Torpedo can cripple a jap CA or something[:D] but the best is Force Z[:)] Hitting Jap CA's in Day Surface engagement... any way can some one explain me how to check if the Engagement will be day or night???

RE: Zeta16 vs Ramjet - To the Bitter End
Well we have hit the 15 of June in our game. The Japanese have the SRA under control except for Timor and and the bases just north of OZ. The seige of Mandalay is under way and it should fall soon. Pm and the Solomans have been taken under Japanese control and Oil and resources are heading back to Japan. The Allies have made a move towards Wake and now control the Islands. Chins is a stalemate as Zeta16 sucks in China with both sides. I have a few banged up CV's but nothing to bad. Where will Japan move to next?

RE: Zeta16 vs Ramjet - To the Bitter End
Well, I've taken huge loses over the months, but I've fought him every step of the way with whatever forces I had. Not smart, but more realistic than cutting and running everywhere on the map. I have to think it will eventually pay off for me, but only time will tell. With the KB engaged in the SRA, I've taken the offensive in the Central Pacific and have enjoyed some level of success. I have retaken Wake island with little resistance and am digging in. Not really ready to be taking on the KB just yet, but the US is building steam as my allied forces battle the Japanese everywhere on the map.
