Sid, I think the answer (SEAC area) is at Division/Corps level.
Some Divs had MG Bns, clearly identified.
Some didnt, but may have as they aren't clearly identified.
Some MG Bns are at Corps level.
In SW Pac, the Aussie MG Bns were at Corps level, but had nearly permanent attachment to Divs.
Isnt working with the Commonwealth fun, [:D] not simple like the US Forces where they kept (mostly) the same OOB and just moved the men.[;)]

Tell me about the 15/ 16 and 77th Chindit Brigades. Are these Indian Army or British Army? When were they operational? Did they exist at all? [They are not on your list or K's list] Is the organization of these and 111 Chindit the same? Is it different from other Indian Army brigades - as shown?

77th and 111th Brigades are on my list[8D]. They belonged to the Indian Army but had only British and Gurkha battalions (and African and Burmese battalions for a short time) under command (first time I noticed this, strange!). They were the "real" Chindits, that is, they were purposedly formed as LRP Brigades and not converted from existing brigades like their British and West African counterparts. Both operated in Burma (77th from January 1943, 111th from January 1944). Organization was completely different from "ordinary" brigades, much lighter and air-mobile (including the use of gliders).
The Chindit Bdes were 14, 16 & 23 British, late of 70 Div, previously 6 Div
77 & 111 Indian Bdes
3 West African Bde
I have the OOB, but last night I had their TOE and didnt bother to write it down!!
They were organised in "Columns", each Bn providing 2 columns eg. 4/9 Gurkha Rifles provided 49 Column & 94 Column.
In Operation Thursday, 14 Bde walked into Burma, 16, 23, 77 & 111 Bdes flew in and 23 Bde was kept by Slim and used as flank troops at Kohima.

Wingate was prejudiced against Indian troops, much preferring British or Gurkha. He was forced to take the African brigade.

Are there any BRITISH divisions at all? I don't see any.
2nd British Division functioned as a division most of the time. 18th British Division as well, but surrendered at Singapore (but one brigade of 18th Division arrived at Singapore before the rest of the division).
5th British Division was in India between May 1942 and August 1942 (and no, I've not confused it with 5th Indian Division, which was still in the MTO then) [parts of 5th British Division participated in the Madagascar operation]. It moved to Iraq in September 1942, probably as a result of the German Stalingrad/Caucasus opertion. Still missing a history of this division that explains its movements.
70th British Division was broken up, its brigades used to form the three British "Chindit" Brigades.
36th British Division was originally a Indian Army Division but not employed as a division before 1944 (its composition changed alot before 1944 and it was formed from existing assets).
