basically im gonna do the same thing the USN did

based on my belief that possibility my opponent is a carrier fanboy, i will be using primarily land based air to move up the solomons, as he will have rough parity with me in fleet carriers and superiority to me in light carriiers. i blieve he may use his light and escort carriers (Chuyo?) for ASW plus raiding of his own, while using shokaku, zuikaku and some light carriers to try to blockade guadalcanal

so i will also be very careful with my large carriers and not get too close to rabaul, tho i will raid the shortlands

Intel reported one Battleship at Shortland, acting on this i ordered the strike

failed to hit any batytleships or even spot them, but did hit these 3 [:)]

in fact now that ive thought about it i think the PBY reported the Kako as a battleship[:'(]

on the other hand he might keep the fleet and light carriers together and try to sink mine, so we shall have to see

i plan to form a force of a couple APs to take the Raiders and Paras to Tulagi. ill use Tulagi as a staging area, moving supplies there, and from tulagi to the airfield. Tulagi of course has a lvl 3 port and Lunga a lvl 1

i plan to build a lvl 1 field on tulagi as well, shifting fighters and dakotas there once its ready. once tulagi is in USN hands ill transfer PBYs there for a recon and ASW base

the airfield on Guadalcanal is the priority right now, even above fortifications. i want a lvl 1 strip up ASAP so i can take ome of the burden off my carriers and detach at least 1 to raid Shortland

the reinforcement convoy will arrive within 48 hours and greatly help in the defense and builing of the new airfield

thew Long Island group will greatly help in defense and ASW

i intend to have perhaps 2 convoys, running back and forth from GC and Tulagi once its taken, and between Noumea and Luganvillle

i may split em up into 3 smaller convoys, as in this case its better to have 3 small convoys than 1 huge convoy, even with the port at Tulagi. of course the less time they spend near the Slot, the better.

the airfield on GC will eventually be a bomber base of course

in terms of carriers, he wont be ready for them to sail for at least another week, so i have a freer hand for a buildup, but i still have to worry about a surface threat and of course Bettys

indeed ill feel much better wen tulagi is in my hands and the convoys start to arrive
