Fremen - a couple of thoughts on changes in case you haven't made the malready:
1. The range of the Catalina is nerfed. As in it has the WiTP range and has not been adjusted to 30 mile hex range.
Noted.
2. The Industry of England seems woefully low. Taranto (Italy) has the same Industry (roughly) as England by the looks of it!
Mmmm, thinking about..

A couple of good points by Speedy.... i would like to add one by myself... it seems that we have situation where RN can easily turn Mare Nostrum into Elisabeth sea[:D]... two 1000 lb bombs were unable to achive any damage...
i know that RN should be dominate in WITM but bit worried about Death star performance...of course these are only my impressions so far and that is need to be tested more....
Englander, i will send you turn soon... don't plan anything with Turkish GF and/or cooking (Jamie Oliver TM)

RE: Blitzkrieg continues
I'm kinda struggling with some of the complaints about the speed of the axis advance in NA. Isn't that basically what happened? Given enough supplies (which I'll get to in a min) Rommel seemed to be able to root the Brits out of any position they put themselves into. Everything I've ever read suggested that the only thing that ever stopped Rommel before 10/42 was a shortage of supplies and/or tanks.
Not entirely correct: Rommel's first seige of Tobruk (in 1941)failed.
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?

You might find that not as much the case when you start the NM playtest. (hint: check your Stukas)
RE: Blitzkrieg continues
I have another thought/idea.....
Given the way the land movement works......maybe it would be a good idea to have a secondary "road" in the 2nd layer hexes along the coast with the exception of the impassible depression that made El Alamein a bottleneck?
This would allow "maneuver" war better as well as allow strong points like Tobruk to be surrounded and sieged. Right now it would take probably two weeks for INF LCU's to surround it
This way too the players don't simply stack all their LCU's in the bases.

That's a good idea.
I was self imposing a houserule allowing LCU movement to only adjacent roads and trails.
To keep from transversing the open desert.
Only small unit groups ever did this.

Hi all,
We're also starting a Nik Mod version game but this initial release game will continue for now.
Fremen some others thoughts on data:
Hudson's seem also to not have had their range adopted to 30 mile hexes.
British Porpoise (ML subs) seem to have incorrect unit data. By that I mean when you reload mines they only carry 12 in total. Is this correct?
Some British subs have not had their speed adjusted for the map. For example British T class 12/43 upgrade HAVE hd thei speed adjusted BUT the PRE-12/43 class upgrade version have a speed of 15 not 30.
Not sure if you have had time to look into this yet but for several units (ARM units in particular) the MAXIMUM TOE of them is like that of a Bde. As such when all the initial deployment forces are destroyed they will only reform to that of a Bde. Hope that makes sense.
I must say a cracking effort on your part for this. Well done[:)]

Are you sure that? I just checked the file and carry 50 type 12 mines.

As i said before, the TOE of the most land units are wrong. This is the main issue to correct to 1.2 version. Sorry for that, so many work.

Hi fremen,
A further point to consuider.
All Allied bases east of Tobruk are Malaria bases. Don't think should be the case.
Also should Alexandria contain some Heavy Industry to allow better supply production?

As Terminus good points, i cannot change the "Malaria" base. This is a hard coded WITP feature.
Alexandria contain a very lot of supplies/fuel from start. You consider low those levels?[&:]

RE: Blitzkrieg continues
How are non-malarial bases in the middle of a malaria zone defined? I think I've read that it's slot-dependent, though I'm not sure.
If so, I count at least 9 non-malarial slots. (Noumea, Soerabaja, Palembang, Singapore, Bangkok, Saigon, Rangoon, Clark, Manila.) Looks like there are 14 malarial bases in War in the Med. (8 on the mainland, 2 on Cyprus, 2 on Crete, 2 in the Dodecanese.) The more important bases, at least, could be made malaria free.

Perhaps the big bases... malaria was a problem throughout the med, iirc, although probably not as virulent in attacking troops as it was in the PTO. i have relatives that come from areas on the map that have suffered with malaria most of their lives.
RE: Blitzkrieg continues
BTW, ctangus - you were playing VSWG in a game (with AAR) - is that game still going on? The AAR has been silent as of late... [:(]
