Army group south and centre have joined 100 east miles of Kiev and already Kiev has fallen. Odessa still in russian hands though but red army is beginning to fall back toward the coastal city.
Pskov has fallen in the north and the untermeschen are heading east.[;)]

RE: Red glory the next war enters our homelands!
It is turn 26, The nasties have almost reached the defensive line ringing Lenningrad, apx50km..
Are not close to Smolensk as they pushjed South.. arre closing on Bryanks, but again pushing South and East
Are approaching Karkov Dneporotzk?sp? and are attacking now into the fortified lines at Odessa. only a few short weeks to go. Sorry about hte lack of posts, my java/pc/matrix is not happy and no links here are working for me when tried to post.
I am rushing troops from Gorki to Lenn and Karkov, and marching troops from the Moscow zone to the forests North of Smolensk and toward Kursk.
That is as good as a word picture as your are getting.
It really hurts to have to defend againsty the fins! I needed those extra troops to defend Lenn Front, which is almost colapsing!
My air , minus the reds in the Far east, is good numericaly but SUPER void of any proficient units.. so we sent an ultimatum to Sweeden, hoping they will declare war, the British consulate inferred that if we saw Sweedish intervention the US would directly send us WARPLANES! YEH..
I did this, A.. because I will not hjold Lenn if he really wants it htis game.. and B. I need those PLANES NOW!
not Persia almost concured, when it falls, next turn that will free up another two armies, 12 divisions for the defenses of Crimia and Odessa!
The Roms really got hurt trying to cross into the south, they lost several units... and I am hoping with my artillery and fleets and dug in guys I can hold out in Odessa long enouth to build up a good defense in Crimia.. Remeber Odessa is a supply point, so holding it is a good use of your troops, as those guys stuck there. unless they bypass it??? are not attacking anywhere else!

this is the onlyy way I can post, so I cannot even clean up the speloling werrors above, please accept my apologies.
The lack of air and the free Finns are hurting, overall though His determuination with the south center attacks have cost him Smolensk on time, and have diverted greatly his armored and mobil resources from other areas.
If I make the grade and can get Lenn Zone stabalized, I think the Jan 42 counter offensive will be a painfull one for my friend the lover!
If he destroys me along the Finn front I will probably lose Lenn and will be looking to save Murmask and Archangel. Karkov is a goner.. too bad. Svstpl in the crimia may hold, again this depends where he decides to attack, last game he stalled out in the crimia and my reserves caused him great pain.
From my experience as the german, the endless red army reinforcments/ reserection is the one thing I would change right off.. perhaps make corps instead of inf Divisions???

ok, now I am waiting for turn 28, the Liga, near Lenn has been pierced but not in force and those Nasty troops have VERY limited suppleis.i.e. the German railheads are far! I may hold the strong line till the mud... Smolensk should hold too and KArkov, OOPS, I left five gaurds divisions near Stalingrad on the rail lines allowing the enemy to pierce an armored column deep into the heart of my defences, again the G supply lines are STREATCHED thin and I, tactic hint for NOOBIES, alway attack the depleated german units at at least min, this further reduces their rediness. So Karkov may or may not fall prior to the mud.. tough to call as I am putting alot of troops there. There are no lines exceipt in the North and the Smolensk Zones.. mostly just cloging the gaps as best I can and allowing the germans to either streatch out or attack. Oddessa remains my crowning glory, as only recently has the NAsty armies and their allies the dreaded Roms reached the gfortified defences there! Things look promising!
I did threaten Sweeden, and in a shrewd move the ultimatum was ignored, allowing him to still chose either way.. but until he does, up to three turns, I do not get the SO MUCH NEEDED US and Brit air support! I cannot wait! p-51 and b-17's in 1941 USSR! Gotta love this as the red player and hate it as the German player!I think JAn 42 will be one tough road for the Germans as then I, per our house rules, get the FAR EAST red air force!
Folks mentioned they liked the maps more than my fictional charactors, so as soon as I can I will begin posting more maps to the two aars I have here.

Aftermath of t28 Luga forced nearer the enemy rail, and advancing units, OOPS, cut off the one red rail gun! DOH! APX150 b26 150 p51 and 70 Dauntless and apx 150 B17 alltrained show up in the USSR, they are not immediately sent to the action, but Stavka is debating which front to sent them too!
We rolled over Persians adding a shorter Lend lease line and Plus 2 game supply! Odessa Fortified walls still standing! All strategic cities still held although Bryansk by a thread. The Norhter armies of Finn have reached the Riva.. and my stand or die orders are issued for these last few turns before the mud. My enemy has between 3 and five turns before his advance grinds down, and I seem to have slowed him greatly exceipt near Karkov where a strong armored push reached to the Southeast of above, only to have an armored reg surrounded and killed of to the man, reports indicate 100 of the most modeer enemy tanks are burning or captured, although they are far inferior to the vaste Red army tanks rolling off the poeples factory lines!
As the enemy falls farther and farther behind the hystorical timelines, my early war, and recent, losses pile up near Grosny resurrected but the majority unable to advance with only 12k rail. there is a mighty army their that will be deployed durring the mud to the North!

US air begins to find the enemy, and none too soon as they are bringing the second waves against Karkov area and the Lenn zone. my lines are really only patched up groups holding key areas.. like Bryansk. The only trur area of success continues to be the Odessa front and Crimia, which steadilly gets reinforced and has yet to see a Nasty!
The North is stable, but I cannot send my limited rail reinforcements everywhere. I hold the Finns and the North at bay, and the Luga river is penetrated in force now, I pray for rain and mud, as that will be the only way to stop these formidible forces racing north. Smolensk still stands but the lines to the south are gone. I may lose it, Karkov and Bryank before hte mud, but we will see where the enemy places their efforts. I think he is moire interested in taking vaste streatches of territory than in any one city!

Stavka hq reports the first waves of US pilots flew out and met the Nasties in daring long distance raids. and the might p51's flew combat air patrol over the front, adding another boost to soaring moral.
In the North the enemy advances slowly towards the solid defenses around LEnn, and the Finns are stopped cold.
In the South the Crimia has not been breached and Odessa Fort line continues to hold back the Nasty allied armies, No one has seen the Itallians?
The area south and east of Karkov saw another German panzer thrust! ugly! yet every turn he runs at the open area my troops dig in near KArkov!
Bryansk flanked to the south but the city still stands... as does Smolensk...nearly 100 divisions that where awaiting rail trainsport are now marching in as the mud approaches. they will be fin additions to our lines south of Moscow!

The fascist pigs are stopped almost everywhere! Odessa remains defiant with a full complement of well supplied troops and artillery! All holding on behind the fortifications, none lost!
Lenningrad front, the nasties have pushed in the Northern Lenn zone, and also have reached the fortified line, one lone aukfart trooper group got themselves captured and where paraded through moscow!
Smolensk looks desperate, but they are still 20-50 km and I hold the wings.. so unless he gets no mud for a bit, I should hold that forever!
Karkov somhow survives as the enemy attacks to the open south?? He is marching up his infantry, and the rails are still wackes all allong the routes, so I may hold K as well.. a stunning debacle, the airforce on the other hand is so ill prepared, none of my units, includingthe much vaunted US air seem to holdup well!
Reminder we have over 50% of our air sitting out the war in Siberia till 1942 arives and they are released per our house rules.. aimed at giving the Germans some hope at getting into good positions in 1942, taking Moscow etc.

RE: Red glory the next war enters our homelands!
As I ponder the future, I look at what went right and wrong.
First off, My well laid plans in the south center at kiev and the lines to its West where foiled as the enemy raced thorough area South and East of Minsk.. BUGGER! and caused no end to the headeaches. I did not give up ground for time well in Finland, lst to many troops.
What is going right? The speed bumps continue to slow down both the enemy advance and the rail reconstruction, so whill he is past Karkov t othe immediate Southeast, he is getting little forward supplies.
Smolensk and Odessa are secure... Not great generalship on my part, the enemy simply has diverted troops away from these strongpoints. Lenningrad stands... I dug in to the North, but after He broke through south of Lenn it seemed like he stalled waiting for his follow up troops.I will have time to build a formidible force and add what little air I can muster after the mud, maybe I can hold out there till JAn and the Counter attack! The Sweeds are advances toward Murmansk, again that was a surprise! If I can keep the Turks out of the war, and hold two of :Smolensk Karkov,Lenn, I should be in great shape for my winter offensive. My air on paper looks fantastic, YET those ineficient units, low proficiency that I was able to save in turns one and two are soooo sorry! Adding the US air helps, but it is not enough. I am surprised 300 p51 do not have a greater affect.
Another positive, I was able to keep a good deal of the larger tubes alive in the first twenty turns through alot of disbanding .. we may need to adress this further in the next house rules.

OK, t32 and no mud
boo!
Odessa changes hands as the Nasty troops and their friends blaste dda hole the fortlaine and proceeded to advance and take the city center, but General Filitov was able to rally the troops and retake the city, not my understanding means the Sovs still hold odessa even though I recieved the news blurb re retaking it. as these calcs are made at the start of the German turn.. If we get mud, I will have mad it till then, which was my goal.. actually well past my original goal.
Karkov looks dismal as more redsd dissapear and more Germans show up, mud? If we get mud next turn then ofcourse I will have made it, but again things are bad all along the swiss cheese front.
The center is firm.
The North looks tough as the Sweds broke the line to Murmansk and the Lenn area is swarming with Germans South of Lenn Frotifications.. again, mud?
these are the trying times for Stavka, but our confidence is high.

t33 no mud, Stavks worries as teh Germans are pushing hard to the north of Karkov. Odessa remains in Sov hands.
Smolensk seems ignored!
Reds face mounting Swed threat along rails leading toward Murmansk.
Please send the rain and mud!
the only good thing is that we are post mud, going to be that much closer to my winter offensive.

Well, T34 the mud arrives.
WE are withdrawing allong some fronts, after Bryank fell and could not be retaken a shortening toward Orel. the Karkov almost encirclement we are pullying back 30-70km all along the bulge!
Odessa still stands, BUT I only hold a small three hex space and I disolved most of the Artillery, so as soon as he emerges the nasties will attack. I only have the solice of knowing the 12 or so troops left will slow them down!
The crimia remains aa red haven!
Inj the North I still hold apx 50 km at the shortest, from losing the rail link to Murmansk. I just sent a resiupply fleet with two armies into this region, the entire Swed army appeared there!
South of Lenn I have the Forest and the Forts, but not nearly enough troops.
Smolensk strands proudly! again an unwinnable area but the enemy has commited the needed forces to KArkov Zone! I am restructuring the lines to the South and building the third defensive fall back at the Norht south rail line aps 100km to the East of Smolensk as a last area defense should this sector be the hot winter area.
The South, west of Rostov is a desert of no one on gaurd. I will aloow this to wiltt and am hopingto put 50-75 reseresscted divisions in the Rostov area by the end of the mud season.

Stavka is briming with optimism, as we reviewed the inventory , Tanks, planes Infantry Artillery! we are in the best shape ever, now that the mud stoped our foes and we are getting all those extra troops bonused off from KArkow and Odessa and Smolenk still holding.. I have no ilusions I can hold Karkov or Odessa, BUT we are seeing masses of air units too bad they are generally of such poor quality! Again perhaps 60% remain in the East, but I feel that 42 will be a bad year for the Finns!
I am slowly asembling a line in the south, and before the mud freezes.
In the next few turns the North will see row after row of fortified lines in front of Lenn.
An actual line in the south rather than Swiss chess lines... I definately am activating as soon as the option appears for BB,s as it adds ships and greater "supplies"Too bad I cannot get the Turks to join the Red revolution!
As I see it the enemy has ,post mud, another month of offense, then a slow down time where he hopefully will grind down his units and then the GREAT 1942 Jan offensive!

Karkov in 42? Maybe we will be fighting there, maybe not.. Or forces still temporarily hold Odessa, so where will the German reserves go? The Crimia stands as a knife pointed at the Ukraine, if he fails to take it will I allow him to run to the East, then cut him off? His best troops were North of Karkov racing into the empty territory that now has seen new units fresh from the assembly areas! If he presses Karkov, I am sure he can take it, my goal will be to avoid a complete encirclement.

The situation in the far north is critical for the russian defenders as the combined force of the Finns and Swedes prove too much for the red army.
The situation in the south depends for Stalins lackies as Odessa falls and Stalino is surrounded, the battle for Kharkov will have only one outcome Victory for army group south !

RE: Red glory the next war enters our homelands!
For those interested in the game, not neccessarily our aar, this point should be well taken. The germans are superior in 41 42 and can pretty much take areas, the Reds goals are to hinder in the critical ones, and slow down the spearheads as best possible, using the huge winter switches in supplies and thus readiness to eat away at the German forces. I personally, this could be argued, think that force levels matter more than area taken... but I am sure there is a balance.
In this aar, it is mid november, just a few short weeks till the Germans start to feel the bite programed into the winter 41-42, and then our glorious first winter offensive including the red airforce resuming offensive operations, ie we add the Eastern forces withheld per our particular house rules...
The Murmansk defenses are toast, the only problem they have is the rail does not connect through from the Finn side, so the force approaching from there will degrade. The Lenn front I have ALOT of troops, and while he could take this, I will bleed him dry, and I do think he is too late here, given the massed forses to the North, to take Lenn before 42summer.
The South, since Odessa just Fell, is doing Great, the crimia not breached and the empty area near Stalino just now occupied, he is yet to hit my fisrt line.
Karkov is almost surrounded, again this pocket will take valuable time to reduce, or he can try to bypass it, only problem there is I will attack his flanks and disrupt his supplies, leaving his best troops, if he chooses to bypass Karkov, vulnerable to be savaged during the Shock of my winter offensive... I love this time of year.. the dead leaves and bodies falling down, littering the landscape like so much confetti after a parade!

t46, another pincer Southeast of Smolensk, and too darn close to Moscow!.
KArkov is surrounded, the Crimia breached, Murmansk approaches look doomed to be overrun. Only near Len are we slowing them down, and even their they are pushing hard to cut the rail Moscow to Lenn!. three more non turns before the t 49 winter offensive!, Ineeded it already, soon our war economy kicks in, and then we will see who rules the winter, I hate Sweeden being in the war, BUT I needed those US planes, and they really will be awesome when they are not the only planes flying in 42, my 41 refuge planes, those kept alive are realy low proficiency.
