Bios for scenarios

Call for Volunteers! This sub-forum is devoted to our ongoing project of researching and
writing brief biographical sketches of all 1000 Civil War generals, each
of whom has a chance of appearing when one plays "Forge of Freedom."
Players are invited to participate in providing info for these bios, which will be added to the game by means of patches, as they are
written.

The scenario-specific guys still out there are: Ormsby M. Mitchel, W.F. Smith, Henry Halleck, J.A. Dix, M. Lovell, T.A. Davies.

There are also some 25- and 100-percenters still out there: McDowell, Reynolds, McPherson, Gregg, F. Lee, Chamberlain, Sedgwick.

Did not someone apply for Chamberlain? http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=1492442

Yikes. I wonder how I missed that. Very good catch!

I just wrote to DrewGator to see if he's still interested.

I would be happy to write up a few more Yankees:
Halleck, McDowell and Reynolds to start. Was sort of hoping to get Chamberlain after watching "Gods and Generals" last week.
I can wheel back around and grab some scenario guys after that.
Thanks,

Okay, you're down for all three. DrewGator did confirm that he still wants Chamberlain, so no luck there.

With Halleck, please be sure to mention his relationship with Grant, which strikes me as one of the key elements.

Thanks!

I presume you are looking for John F. Reynolds, not Joseph J. Reynolds. There is a neat thing about J.J. Reynolds. He was a professor at Washington University in St. Louis in engineering and mechanics from 1857-60.

Since I haven't seen a great rush to do the needed bios, I'll start with Ormsby Mitchel (if that's OK). I've got a little time here or there to work on bios.

Thanks for both. By the way, I've assigned jkBluesman the following in a private message, so be sure to avoid them:

Confederate: Charles W. Field, Archibald Gracie, Jr., Stephen D. Lee (last Lt. Gen. out there)
Union: Gordon Granger

At least two of those he's already done, I guess.

Looks like the only one left on the top list is Davies. I'll start on him and hopefully have him done today or in the morning. Lovell has been done.

Are there any other generals who need to be done immediately? I can jump on the 25-percent and 100-percent fellows who remain if that's what is needed.

You're right, I do have Lovell from way back. I missed him somehow.

Right now there are no pressing needs, especially now that you've done the last of the generals needed for a scenario. I think I posted the 25/100-percenters still needed a while back, but if you'd prefer you can go back to your reverse-alphabet assault on all of the 9-percenters out there.

Gil,
Are any of the CSA Lee's still out there? I'm now three generals away from getting to them (once I post the three I'm working on right now).
Thanks,
