RE: Stopping an Invidious Empire.
Well actually unintentionally I am being a bit less than ueber-gamey as my initial invasion force will only contain the South-East Asia New Chinese Divisions so it'll actually be less gamey than having Field Armies in the first wave.
Of course the second wave is going to be ueber-gamey as hell [:D] but this is a pretty much no hold's barred game so all's fair so long as it isn't a bug exploit.

Kind of interesting that the P-40E's took much higher casualties than the P-40B's. Roll of the dice, or pilot experience?
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?

In other news Manilla is open for business again AND is a Level 4 airfield. I foresee a lot of four-engined bombers staging out of there in the next few days as I really do want to focus on transport-killing in the DEI region.

So that's another 7 Japanese transports sunk or left in sinking condition with just an afternoon's work. Japanese shipping losses are climbing gratifyingly and over the past month roughly 40 Japanese ships have been sunk. Currently 175 Japanese ships ( only three of which are barges ) are communing with Davey Jones [:D] which doesn't compare to the 540 Allied ships which have been sunk but the ratio has gone from almost 5 : 1 to just about 3 : 1 over the past 45 days and that's encouraging.

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 04/14/42
Today my ships began loading at Colombo and Perth. I only have about 80 fighters covering the actual invasion fleet but sheer mass ought to see it through and I have enough BBs, CAs, CLs and DDs to see off the entire surviving IJN. Add in the 150,000 tons of supplies I'm going to land ( much of which will be wasted but better to waste it in a small base than to land with too little and end up in dreadful trouble with under-supplied units being unable to take Japanese bases.

Damn, I don't know why he is hitting Teloekboetang.... I hope he isn't trying to take it... If he is the 9 subs I've parked off Java and Borneo with small infantry components will just have to find me another unoccupied harbour and I'll have to land there but landing at Teloekboetang would be the most effective possible landing as I could reinforce Palembang quickly and easily and mach the rest of my force South ( plus sailing some east in order to leapfrog into Borneo). Now THIS is interesting. It appears this is where the minus numbers in the combat report are coming from. Jagdfluger has resorted to V-92Cs for some of his bombing squadrons... Defeated Allied Units Retreating!
Only a single guerilla regiment remained by the time the Japanese reached Sian in strength. The 3,000+ AV of the Eastern Chinese Army have, yet again, escaped. Unfortunately 500 AV or so are trapped behind enemy lines after they retreated in the wrong direction about a month ago BUT with 3,000 AV escaping I should be able to build appropriate defensive lines on the roads to Chungking.
In other news Japanese convoys are streaming past Teloekboetang. I think they are either making for Australia OR some of the island bases west of Java/Sumatra in order to establish patrol plane bases. Time will tell.
Today my ships began loading at Colombo and Perth. The Dutch and Soviet subs are really doing excellent work. its a pity the Japanese surprise strikes destroyed so many of them. By day's end almost 180 Japanese ships have been sunk which gives us an exchange rate of almost exactly 3:1 ( I've lost 540 ).

Ah well, I'll do whatever is required and possible given the situaiton on the day.

Now THIS is interesting. It appears this is where the minus numbers in the combat report are coming from. Jagdfluger has resorted to V-92Cs for some of his bombing squadrons... He must really be at the very bottom of his airframe pool if he is relying on these worthless planes. Hell, I don't even use them on the frontlines but upgrade to SB-2Ms or IL-2s once they are sufficiently trained up.

The Japanese presumption in putting this unit just 60 miles from my forward Soviet lines annoys me so I've ordered a 1000 AV+ foray to crush it. Its a little misdirection also as he might think it presages a proper offensive. The trick here is to force him to commit forces to this theatre and in China such that he can't quickly react to my attack against Java BUT to do so whilst not drawing down enough Japanese ire onto myself that he concentrates enough force to crush my forces in any given theatre. Its a delicate balancing act.

That annoying artillery company is pushed back. I think though that Jagdfluger is trying to cut me off by advancing cross-country east of Borzya so I think I'll pull back a bit more. I only need to hold out until I can take the pressure off with my Java --> Borneo --> Phillipines offensive.

Defeated Japanese Units Retreating!
Around Choybalsan jagdfluger is flying in lots of new troops to his airhead and basically trying to airmobile assault his forces into my operative depth. I've split a large number of divisions into thirds in order to safeguard my rear echelon and am going to withdraw my troops from their eastern positions with a view to preventing him marching across country and cutting me off.
In other news most of the invasion force has left Perth and about 2/3rds of the invasion force has sailed from Colombo. I am experiencing bugs with loading airgroups onto transports which is going to cause me serious trouble when it comes to flying dive-bombers etc into Java. Bugwar 1942 continues!!! I've been fairly philosophical about the minelaying bug around Coal Harbour etc but when bugs hit crucial parts of your first major offensive it really is annoying.... crucial? Yes, those 120 Il-2s and 90 Swordfish/Vildebeests I had committed to the invasion were going to be crucial in sinking the shipping the enemy counter-invasion force was trying to land from. Fair enough these planes only have a maximum range of 180 miles but that's still more than enough when all you really are looking to do is launch 200 of them into the air to attrit the enemy invasion fleet into nothingness over the course of 2 or 3 counter-invasions.
So far I'm still on course for May 3rd.

My forces are beginning to gather west of Sri Lanka and will soon begin moving south to rendezvous with the forces coming from Perth. Then, when level with Teloekoetang they'll begin their 5 day run in. Blood on the water indeed!!!

Now I'm seriously confused.[&:] Aren't the V-92C's YOUR planes on CAP?
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?

RE: Stopping an Invidious Empire.
Harlock,
Well spotted, yeah it turns out this is an unintended consequence of letting the Japanese use an ostensibly Allied plane. It looks like the game assigns planes to a side based on the SLOT they use in the editor instead of which squadron they are flying for. Well, lesson learned and I have fixed this in the next iteration of the mod.

Why? I have lots of P-39s coming on-stream and am going to devote a single P-39 squadron to each of my CONUSA bases. It won't stop any raids but it will definitely attrit the Japanese bomber force --- and with V-92Cs and Ki-32s being used en masse throughout the DEI I think that we are seeing a severe cramp being put in his twin-engined bomber force. I know he has a group of Me-264s though and I expect that they are based at Prince Rupert and just prepping for a major raid. Well, bring it on!!!

AGP = PT Boat TenderORIGINAL: Nemo121
Hmm, well that's the AGP I had tasked for this invasion gone. I had heard that they helped with invasions. Since this is the farthest I've gotten in an Allied game I have no idea what they do but I figured having one along couldn't hurt [8D]. Well, it looks like this invasion will go in without its AGP --- whatever it does [:D]

tm.asp?m=1149856Anyone know a good place to go for repairing out of synch problems? I am assuming it happened when his Zeroes strafed my PTs around Noumea.
I think it was 200 load points per phase, but don't take my word for it. Just recently someone posted a number, but the forum search isn't working ATM.Just how much unloads from an AP or AK per phase ( or day )when it is unloading at an enemy-held base?

Nemo, Interesting game you have going there. Why did he invade Canada again ? seems like a
completely dumb thing to do before the PI even falls. Japan seems to be on so many fronts it's not a wonder that his AF seems so stretched. As for the missing Zeros , humm. maybe he's got a bunch heading towards Canada in an AK ?? or just keeping a good reserve when your counter attack arrives (although i doubt he'll be expecting an invasion of Java).
Anyway just to you know your efforts are appreciated , thanks for posting
sorry for the spelling . English is my main language , I just can't type . and i'm too lazy to edit

AGP = PT Boat Tender
AGC = Amphibious Force Command Ships
Since your last PT foundered on a mine, it appears the AGP was no big loss![:D]
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?

Well, that's that settled then.
