I'm setting up upgrades like this - the Soviets start with a T-28 medium tank and that can be upgraded to T-34 M40 to M41 to M43 to T-34/85. So basically at any given moment you have only one medium tank. I don't think that will be all that confusing.

Yes, but what will you do with USAAF fighters for instance? You will have the P-36, then the P-39 and P-40, the P-38, P-47,P-51, P-80 and you still can add versions of these planes (for instance P-51B, P-51D and P-51H). When you have only 4 levels it´s ok....but if you have more levels....Or you can take the mutiple PzIII and PzIV German medium tanks. How to do with them?

Hi T_K

When you make new units, you might want to test them with combat sim mode.  It basically runs a combat 200 times and reports average results.  This is a good way to make sure units are performing as desired.

How to access the Sim mode???

When in the edit mode, click on the system icon (lower left) then one of the choice buttons on the right will turn Combat Sim on. Exit edit mode by clicking on Main (upper left corner) then start the game. Each attack will run 200 times and the average results will be shown in a table.

Sometimes it's best to setup the units you want to test on a special map or area. After the attack the units are not destroyed so you can use the same units as attackers and targets many time.

Basically my masterfile is an empty small map with several units consisting of 1-2 sftypes of each unit I want to test set up against each other. If I want to actually play the masterfile I just delete the regimes and save it as a copy.

Is it possible to do something using events as a temporary solution? I really hope this limitation can be taken away in future patches....

My idea is to keep a research tree but not the upgrade paths. It´s still possible to upgrade your units. Buth I´m thinking more on aircraft....

You can have as many upgrade levels as you want. There's actually no such thing as "upgrade levels". You just can have any unit upgraded to any other unit. You can even have circular upgrades - one unit upgraded to another, and that one upgraded back to the first one [:)]. People just think in terms of upgrade levels because of how the default unit set is setup. Nobody is forced to follow that.

[:D][:D][:D] That reply made my day! Thanks T_K. I was concerned there for a while, but that only prove that communicating in ones second language is not always simple... Thanks!
