The allied losses so far are somewhat severe. All CVs are sunk except the Essex. I have all CVEs and CVLs, but that is not really something you'd want to face the KB with. Right now the fleet consists of the CV Essex, 4 CVLs and 7 CVEs. I have 13 BBs and a myriad of other ships of cource. The bright spot is the airforce which seems to be intact, same with the submarine fleet.
In India, the British are holding Karachi with 12000 AV. Yes, that is right...12000. It seems half the Chinese army is here aswell. All of China is lost. In the Soviet union, Irkutsk is the only remaining base. It is held by 4000 AVs.
All of northern Australia is lost, but there are no signs of any land attack south.

Yes...you read it right. The Japs have lost the sum total of 3 CLs. Naturally theyve lost some assorted AKs, MSWs, and PCs...but thats about it.
As you might imagine, defeating this evil empire is no small order. The industrial base of the Empire must be astounding, in fact this is the first time Ive come across a Japanese Empire spanning all of continental asia, aswell as northern Australia.

Compunction? Say what?
Did Churchill really use the word "compunction" in that quote? If so, the quote makes no sense. Compunction means "unease or doubt created by wrongdoing." So if Churchill used compunction, he was saying, "We ask no favors from the enemy, we seek from them no unease or doubt created by wrongdoing." Huh?

Well, I believe he used the word in the meaning of remorse.
So the quote goes something along the line of "We ask of them no favours, we dont want their remorse" (instead we will give them back twice as bad, just you guys wait for Hamburg and Dresden).

I'm in total awe of your opponent. I could only dream of accomplishing so much... [&o]
On the other hand, why don't you start to build up Alaska and the Aleutians in a BIG way, and start an invasion of the Kuriles as soon as Winter breaks out? The bad weather will nullify the advantage of the KB.
I look forward to following this AAR so that I can learn what the Allies might/could do against me in my pbems... [:D]

Well, in the general course of human existence, it is generally considered wrong to kill people, destroy their cities, etc... of course, this gets into a big discussion about the slippery morality of war.

Reinforcements due to arrive in 1943: 36 fighter airwings, approx 900 aircraft; 27 bomber airwings, approx 400 aircraft; 12 torpedo/divebomber airwings, approx 200 aircraft.

The ground combat in Asia continues. Enemy forces are moving in on Irkutsk, while we are desperately using our airforce to inflict as many casualties as possible on his forces. It will be touch and go if we can hold Irkutsk or not. I really hope we can since it would free up too many Japanese units if we fail.

It will be really interesting to try. Im launching Natalie in a location where he is expecting an attack, but he is not expecting exactly this type of attack. I am going to bypass the most built-up bases (Yankee papa and Yankee mike) and instead just neutralize them and land at small, undeveloped bases.

After a few days of looking over the map and looking at the movements of his, I have the following observations.
1) He is in a defensive posture in India. I dont think there will be any attack towards Karachi.
2) Same goes for Australia, he seems content with just defending the northern coast.
3) He is advancing towards Irkutsk. I dont know if I can hold him there. I have 5000 AV at lvl 8 forts right now, but they should be up to lvl 9 before his units arrive.
4) With the 2 month "window" I have in the pacific, I believe we can rule out any Japanese invasion attempt on my holdings. All my units are being moved to participate in Natalie, and I will use newly arrived units in the US to defend the island chain.

There is an interesting opening in India that I dont think he has seen. By the looks of things, he is focusing his assets on defending from an attack out of Karachi. I believe it would be bloody pointless to try to break that line at Ahamabad or Lahore, I would just be throwing my forces into his lvl 9 forts.
Instead I am toying with the idea to do an invasion in southern India, and at the same time bring in an Australian division from Perth. If I time this good enough, I can sieze the base and unload the Australian division before he can react with surface forces. If I land at Trivandrum or Panaij, the terrain will also help me to defend.
I have the Indian paras coming in 52 days, that is enough time to load the Australian forces and ship them to an offshore position off India. I can use this attack in two ways. Either launch it a week or so before Natalie to try to lure him to send reinforcements to India, or I can launch it a week after Natalie, to benefit from any movements he has done to counter that offensive.

that is enough time to load the Australian forces and ship them to an offshore position off India.
I would be very Leery of doing this move until I knew the location of the KB. It would be an honorable thing for your opponent to at least tell you the last Known location of the KB and mini KB as far as the allies are concerned. If he's been regularly raiding the Indian Ocean map edge all game with mini KB, that is something you should have knowledge of at this point.
You should prod your opponent or correspond with the previous allied player to find out anything you can before risking an entire division on that damn map edge of death.
