Wow, how the tide turns! During the Turn 5 Orders execution, another IL-2 Sturmovik showed up and missed one of my Panzer IIIJs entirely. Just as I was congratulating myself on that, a third IL-2 Sturmovik showed up in the Reaction phase and hit BOTH of my Panzer IIIJs (which I had unfortunately placed close together in a line) and its rockets penetrated and destroyed BOTH! Ouch!
This will teach me to get complacent. I should have kept my Panzers under tree cover and not moved them out into the open, or at least kept them more widely spaced. The AI has to periodically remind me of this lesson and each time it's a painful one. This does make things more interesting though! (those of you who wanted airpower, there you go)
The T-60As have started moving out again. Meanwhile my infantry is almost at the treeline and I'm starting to exchange some long range fire with the Guards from the edge of the south woods.
A third prong has appeared, a group of Soviet Regular Infantry along the road behind the central objectives. This is going to take a bit of work, but I've got the 150mm Artillery back online now.
I fine-tune my infantry rush orders to get them to that treeline before the T-60As take them under fire and before the smoke I laid down in the gap clears. I move a few more infantry up to the edge of the south woods, where the BA-64s are trying to suppress my SS Infantry while the Guards move across the field.
I can't move my forces in the north down to help as the T-60A group up there is still being kept in place by the AI.
