Check out the latest recon images from the front, detailing new artwork and more features!

Matrix Games, 2 by 3 Games (www.2by3games.com), and Henderson Field Designs are thrilled to release a brand new pack of screenshots detailing some of the gorgeous new art and gameplay coming to gamers in War in the Pacific – Admiral’s Edition, due to be released later this year.

Later this year doesn't mean that the game is delayed from summer, right?. In the Spanish pdl forum (about wargames and witp) some people have hinted that this means that the game is delayed, but I don't think so.

Still summer as a posible release date?

Well, the people who have hinted this aren't part of the development team, so they don't actually know anything.

Yep, I know, Terminus... the point is that the most "straight" translation of "later this year" into Spanish may mean that the game is delayed. I don't know how to explain it if you don't know spanish.

Let's say that some pals have understood that "later this year" as "later than previously stated". ;) Not that they say that the game will be delayed, but that they have understood that from the actual words of Alex. ;)

That's the reason I'm asking. Just to be sure that the game isn't being delayed (yet).

I don't think we'll make our original hoped for Origins deadline, but we're still planning on "this Summer". Obviously, we won't release until we're happy with it and everything tests out, but right now things are going well and everyone's in high gear.

Perhaps this would be a good time to propose the old idea of an "offering" to the Gods.

Specifically, a July 4th party featuring an open pit roasting of Termius with lots of beer.

when can we preorder the game? will there be some sort of collectors edition?

Matrix should do some type of collector's thing for this. It is the best way for the company to make some extra margin from those of us with the extra disposable income. And I think we all want Matrix to be successful and not go the way of the other publisher someone else mentioned in this thread.

Gald to hear it. I for one am happy to see the release date slip if it means a better product. Thanks guys for all the hard work. I'll be expressing my appreciation a little more concretely, with money, when it comes out. [;)]

Actually, this is going to be released as a "Collector's Edition" by which we mean that the printed manual will likely be over 200 pages and in full color.

Id like to humbly make a suggestion, how about including a map, or better yet a period reproduction of a propaganda poster? For example the Uncle Sam, needs you for Army/Navy/Marines etc. Just a idea, im all for buying a CE just spice it up a bit [;)] oh a map would be good as well or did I say that already? Manual is great but if its outdated quickly looking at the colour pictures wont do much for me.

A map would be a great thing.  An accurate, colour-colored manual too.  A propaganda poster might be fun (look out for copyright, it's 75 year in the US IIRC).  A reference booklet, with all the values/data from all ships/planes/equipment of the game would be a great asset.  And so on, and so on.  Anything goes.

But please, make it available on this side of the Atlantic too.[&o]

Having the new map available or order from Cafe Press would be nice also.
