The red army made same brilliant front shortenings which will lead to certain german defeat. Any red army personel calling this a retreat were shot for defetist propaganda (2123 soliders, 44 officers and a few unknown general to be precise). The red air force tried an unescorted attack on the 11th army airfields in the south but they were quickly wiped out by some 300 german fighters:( The red air force command deceided that it should go higher on the german chain of command then in last week. Surprisingly okh and okw was undefended. All soviet bombers in range made a visit. Only 487 german was destroyed, so I think it was the rebuilding place for the downfighted (bombed?) german air units. No matter what I ecxept stronger air defense in rear german airfields and lightened german fighter presence on the front. This is highly needed as my fighter force is in ruins and I have only small fighter reserves. Luckily at the end of the week rain began to fall. I hope it will fall for weeks.

The Luftwaffe struck back in anger at the Red Air Force, hitting an airfield near Moscow with weak air defenses. Poor, rainy weather helped achieve surprise against the defending fighters. A number of ground probes were launched in the mud to weaken enemy defenses in preparation for the summer offensive soon to begin.

Red air force bombers tried axis airfields again. This time all 7 probing attacks were stopped bloodily:( And the weather turned clear at the end of the week. Ouch...

Axis bombers hit our rear airfields again. This time 500 soviet aircraft perished:( The soviet air force commanders were transfered to the ground forces as well. Now the disgraced air commanders can do ground battles against each other:)

German attack continued to roll. 2 panzer korps were too ambitous and the counter of the tank armies caught them of balance. One more proud panzer korps is destroyed at the end of week. The other is completely encircled, but past experiences tell me that it will escape.

The wehrmacht forces were enraged by the mass slaughter during the enemy counterattack that wiped out a panzer corps. Using this additional atrocity committed by the invaders of the fatherland, our men struck back hard, destroying 2 enemy armies and punishing others involved in the counteroffensive. Tank losses were very heavy on both sides, however.

The army is ready to continue the battle until Moscow is reached this fall and the outlaw Stalin sent to a safe place.

The red army continued on the ways to bloody victory. Took the massive damage, shortened the defense line and forced one more wandering panzer korps to surrender. This panzer korps was quite weak. The ordinary red solider begun to have some confidence again. Maybe the germans don't have countless panzers? Does not 2 panzer korps emerge for every one destroyed? Maybe there is hope for better days to come?

Thanks, I will get it off to you when I get my next turn.

The loss of another panzer korps led to a huge uproar in the Reichstag over the conduct of the war against the invaders. Apparently, there have been numerous breakdowns in the movement of support troops, leading to the loss of many panzertruppen units. Action this week was limited to air raids due to rain across the front, and the artillery factories in Rostov and Sevastopol were struck by air raids.

Although losses have been heavy, the German people are celebrating this week as the last of the invaders of East Prussia have been chased from our soil, running for their lives back to mother Russia. Most or all of Poland has been cleared also, and the outskirts of Minsk reached.

If the weather holds, the offensive will continue to the east, although the soldiers must advance cautiously due to the strong reserves of the enemy.

Comrade Stalin has proved right by time! The germans are really only after conquest! We were succesfull disturbing the enemy preparation with our attack a year ago, but now we are being pushed back. It's bad to think about what would have happened if we did not disturb german attack preparations! We would fight for Moscow right now!

Some more brilliant front shortenings to save our troops from encirclement. Tarnapol was heavily mined a left over to foolish germans to walk into death. Minsk will be defended hard, and no defetist propaganda will be tolerated about already moved artillery factory.

Rumors of Soviet propaganda about an aggressive war by the peaceful Germans have reached our people, who are shocked that any such accusations might be leveled against them. Although the nearly unpopulated lands of the east will be used for German families to move to, our forces are fighting against the aggressor, and have been shocked by the devastation in the lands taken by the invader, now that they have been freed.

Back to the front, Soviet fighters were drawn into combat against our Fw190s, and although losses were high on both sides, the Soviet fighters were weakened and bombers were then sent to hit the airfields protected by them. Hundreds of planes went up in smoke on the ground! Meanwhile, the ground war went poorly as our panzers were sent in pursuit of the retreating enemy forces in the south but ran into entrenched defenders far in the rear who caused heavy losses.

The Kreml has clear evidence that "peacefull german farmers" already planned to move into Soviet real estate before our counterstrike surprised them. This evidence will be shown to all peaceloving journalists interested (Pro german capitalists are not allowed to see in this, as they would falsely interpret it. The Kreml will invite some well respected journalists to see the evidence)

On the front our army stopped the panzers as they overconfidentely run into the Stalin line in the south. Tank armies are being transfered right now for a great counterstrike which will lead to the total defeat of the invaders. The main powers of the red air force slowly recover and will take the control of the skies in the counterstrike area.

Another week of good weather allowed the panzers to throw back a shock army in the central front area, and then follow up cutting off and destroying another army in an encirclementfrom there. This success led to celebrations throughout Germany. The captured soldiers show very poor morale, stating that the constant air attacks without any battlefield support from the Red Air Force leaves most of the men ready to quit the fight. This year will be the year of decision!

Apologies for the slightly off topic question, but I thought this might be the best place to ask the question. I recently began this game. Can you tell me the status of the west and italian fronts. I note that I am supposedly defending normandy and north of rome. I thought that in this scenario, the war in the west had been concluded. In any event, any other information ont the structure of this scenario is greatly appreciated.

We are playing it as if the British signed a peace treaty and are staying out of the war. To do this, you would need to use Ed's excellent Wirhack version and disable the event checks for the 2 fronts and for bombing. I actually designed it originally based on a temporary peace treaty being signed, but then the Brits and Americans restart the war, making all fronts active. However, with the latest version of the game engine, production would need tweaked a little to give the Axis a better chance, although this version of the scenario with Wirhack is to the German advantage overall.

You can play it with any version of the settings and see how it goes also.

Our panzers were ordered to attack behind the great fortress of Minsk, held by strong Soviet armies, but the attack was stopped after a 20 mile advance by a well camoflauged army. Tank losses continue to run high, but there are plenty of infantry reserves so the attack may switch to infantry attacks, followed up by panzers, in the future.
