I got another early turn ending so I only destroyed 37 Soviet units in turn 5:

I think there are some terrain changes besides those mentioned already ( no Sweden, etc. ) since I'm getting the impression that there are some airports missing.  I distinctly remember airports being near places I need them in FITE and they aren't here on this scenario's map.  I can live without the ports I suppose but it sure would be nice to have some more airports in there.  Although, I guess I should count my blessings, since they will be missing for the Soviet dude when I'm retreating back to Berlin as well.

I detect a Soviet play pattern developing. They come at me a few units at a time and act as roadblocks that also attack my units in their turn. It has slowed my advance down considerably and I haven't even captured Minsk yet ( which I expect I would have done by now in a regular FITE game against a human opponent ). They lose those few units they throw at me but at the same time they build another 1090 squads for each turn which passes ( unless I capture a production city at which point the production drops I assume ). So the PO has figured out that they can AFFORD to lose whatever units they lose as roadblocks since they will win in the long run no matter what else I do. It's win-win for them to do what they're doing. I've been driving my dudes forward for about three weeks now, they're getting tired and most of them are starting to show orange ( a few are red ) and I need to rest them so I think I'll hold up at the River and rest for a couple of turns before resuming the huge push again.

Here's something you guys never do but that I do from time to time.....I left a hole in my lines. I got to chasing some Soviet artillery and one thing led to another and all of a sudden there's nothing much between the Soviet armour unit and my rear areas except for a lone AT unit and maybe some HQ's.

According to my calculations 70 Soviet units were destroyed in turn 6. That's a lot but the math doesn't lie:

Wonderful AAR. Maybe you can explain the reason for the hole in your line a bit more you were talking about. Are you trying to make them exploit your line and then cut them off and surround those pesky units?
