Problem having a 5 min game is you reap the advantages of no Allied Support becoming available.
There is also no timetable available for the Allied AI to carry out it's Battle plans.
You have set it up so that the AI is at it's dumbest and easiest.
I guess that's good if your only objective is to win.... but as always there is a price and that would be "satisfaction"
You are right about support, didnt think of that. What would be the minimum time required for them to use all three? The AI does drop its artillery every time on 5mins game though. Usually on the highest concentration of units. That advantage works for them to but on a lesser scale.
The satisfaction is actually good. I am playing through the campaign quickly, and still spending hours doing it. I can enjoy all the maps and each battlegroup. Finishing the GC would take considerably less time. (Am I the only one that thinks 99% of 25day GCs never make to the end? Or probably even half way, theres just too much time to invest in going that far, in 10 years of playing I made to the end once and that was CC4.) I dont have to wait for the AI to crawl its way to death. The 1st six days of this GC when I was playing at 15minutes, I disbanded almost every Allied BG from a German Attack. Probably in 90% of the games so far the AI has asked for a truce early on. Not bragging about beating AI though, that would be pretty lame. Even given 15minutes the AI cant formulate a good battle plan to counter whatever I am doing. Having it at 5minutes just ends the agony sooner. I also find playing at 5minutes prolongs the battles on the map to a few turns, sometimes a few days. In other words, it saves the AI's ass that theres not enough time for it to be wiped out. The casualties I take trying to disband a map in under 5 minutes probably make up for whatever kills the AI may of inflicted during a 15min game.
So I cant agree that the AI is at its dumbest. It only has one level, and thats really dumb. The AI has no chance period to begin with, but the advantages for it here are two. It can inflict high casualties and fight on a map longer than usual.
There is probably a better time limit thats less than 15 but more than 5.
Can the AI be modified to be more agressive in the beginning minutes? What exactly is this time table?
