I lived there from a bairn up to 16 when I joined the Army. I've lived in England ever since...so I've spent the majority of my years in England. Whenevr I go back to Glasgow, it's always to see friends and family...so I never get to see much of Scotland and I was getting pretty fedup being told by all sorts of nationalities how beautiful my own country is...so this time we rented a cottage for the week in a wee town calld Onich just south of Fort William
We wanted to climb Ben Nevis, but the weather was awful all week. It was eventually meant to be nice on Friday, so we choose that day to do it - unfortunately, I was advised not to go above 600 meters with the kids due to the 70mph gusts. We ended up going 900 meters and headed back down, gutted. But it will still be there for the doing another day.
Ben Nevis, by the way, is the biggest mountain in Britain standing a proud 1344 meters (4409 feet).
These are a few photos of our trip.
At the start looking fresh and keen

About 600 meters up here

As far as wee could go - 900 meters
