Patch 1 - Two Bugs

Post by witpqs »

See the attached pre-turn resolution save game.

Bug 1) Problem loading LCU at small port. In this case, size 0 - Baker Island. See amphibious TF 56 at Baker Island with 3 large AKA. The 762 Tank Bn fragment on Baker Island has only some motorized support left (the rest has been transported already). Run turn resolution, each AKA only loads 1 motorized support, then "Loading Complete"!

This bug existed before patch 1 but I thought I read in someone else's report thread that it was fixed. Maybe not fixed for a size 0 port?

Bug 2) This bug:
92. An issue where some Base 0(0) ports were not building has been fixed.

appears to still be active in Patch 1. See two examples in this save game: Fanning Island and Baker Island are both 0(0) port size and are not building at all.

Put code in to prevent resetting bases to "primary af" but did not put in code to put bases back to "port" if they were already improperly reset.

OK - if I understand then it's fixed for new games (which is fine with me [:)]), yes?

EDIT: Saw your post in the other thread - answer yes. Thank you.

"Bug 1" is still an outstanding issue, however.

check amphibious TF loading in PH in the save: 1 of 3 transport are loaded full..the others only 1 squad. also the load of the unit is completed but TF don't know this (if you pass the turn you foud the tf still in PH loading unit...and the LCU are not fragment remaining in PH).

it hit me several times with 1084 and every time with motorised support involved.

as a free[&:] bonus: in the same save there is a fragment of 1 squad of a 47 constr ENG unit in SF: there is no way to load it

and also: the 153 transport TF in noumea: i can't transfer unit from TF to port, (even the not loaded with LCU) the only way is to made a new TF transfer to it and disband in port (from port to TF all OK)

Not releated to Motorized support. It is an amphibious TF that was ordered to pick up three separate fragments of the same land unit. The load process recognized that only one real unit was being loaded while processing the first ship in the TF and merged them for load at that time. The first ship was able to load the entire "merged" unit, leaving the other two ships sucking air when they tried to load. Simple fix, a "don't suck air" statement.

You are too kind. This looks like a variation of the same issue as above, but it is "after the fact" and there is no way to track it down now. The unit fragment for the 47th Engr thinks it is still on a ship. Not obvious how this could have happened. Do you have any information about what you may have done with the unit or prior saves when it was properly aboard ship? If not, this one will need ghostbusters.

Broken pointer. How did such an obvious bug last through two years of beta testing and hundreds of games before showing up now?

Sonny II,

I'm sure that applies to the save loricas posted, but if you look at the save I posted you will see that there was only one fragment being loaded into multiple ships in the TF.

In fact, the unit in question invaded in an amphibious TF that had lots of extra room (loaded the spare capacity with extra supplies). After the island was conquered, I attempted to load the unit back onto the very same TF and - no dice! It loaded everything correctly except the motorized support. The motorized support will only load 1 or 2 per ship, no matter how big the ship is. This affected several LCU's (which each had separate amphibious TF's).

As an example, after the initial load (which had loads of capacity for the whole unit), one LCU has about 27 motorized support left behind in a fragment. So, after the first amphibious TF departed I brought another one in with 3 ~6200 capacity AKA. Capacity-wise, each of the AKA's should load the entire fragment with lots of room leftover. Instead, each ship loaded 2 motorized support. I had to keep bringing in additional ships to load up the fragment at the rate of 2 motorized support per ship!

in fact i turn around it giving order to stop load the two "ghost" fragments. but the real trouble is where there is not place for all in the first ship: part of unit are left behind as reported by witpqs so it hit two time: the first time with management the second time with waste of ships (and it appen also with transport TF). never found before patch: but maybe only luck

what i have done with the unit is load at SF and unload at PH where is now (and correctly reporting the lacking of 1 enginer squad): the saves unlucky are lost: i advice of this several turns after it appen. the difference frome the above issue is there is no way to load this fragment..so if you have ghostbusters tel o mail[;)]

i only post now as first i think that was intendet (a limit to ship in a small port) after that is soo evident that i'm sure someone posted before...maybe what think all folks for two years

there is another issue with fragment: sametime when a unit with fragment surrender all surrender also even in another base. i try to reproduce for the save..

I would be very interested in the surrender fragment bug as I have never been able to reproduce it.
