Horse and Musket v1.12 Beta Patch

The Seven Years’ War was fought across the globe and called by some the first “World War” as virtually every major power participated. In the center of events was Prussia, almost constantly at war and lead by the now legendary Frederick the Great.

Relive the exciting and trying days of Frederick the Great in Horse and Musket: Volume I, the improved and expanded combination of the previous Prussian War Machine and Prussia’s Glory titles. Horse and Musket: Volume I is a reboot of the successful Horse and Musket series, including not only two solid historical titles in one package, but also many new game features, a powerful new editor, and a complete graphics overhaul to an already acclaimed gaming system.

An Update for Horse and Musket is now available in the Members Club. This is a beta version at the moment, but we plan on making it official before the end of the year, if nothing major is found in the next week. To download please register your game here, if you haven't already, and go to Registered Downloads to get the zipped installer.
Here is the list of changes in this patch

  • Adjustments and corrections to several scenarios
  • Overstacking error fixed
  • Disengage fixed
  • Leader Radius error fixed
  • Removed Cavalry Sub-type from unit editor in dialog.
  • Corrected the code to read the Combat Target Modifiers. This corrects cav. not taking men or morale damage when charged.

  • Fixed - Game crashing during remote games.

  • Added Scenario Editor Users Guide
  • Added Second Silesian War Scenerio (this is a user designed scenario, which currently doesn't have a display map when your choosing which battle to play)
  • Unit Description Screen fixed
    • This was based on the Cavalry Type (light/medium/heavy) which is no longer defined
    • Graphic displayed was unspecified then, usually just being the last one to display

I just downloaded the Beta patch.  Are the wooden forts permanently gone?  I really like the redoubts and consider them a basic necessity for a serious game.  However, would it not be better to sacrifice some of the building representations rather than wooden forts?
