Rail repair, a great question. Look around the corps FEB's I control, the others (battalions) the computer controls... As far as supply its a plus not to run from it, thus roll the line north...As I first posted, the OKH plan works...Oil, we don't need no stinking oil, we need to kill the bear...

Steve your killing me...The key word was I had 4 posts...lmao...Refits, is a way that we say "hey man" some bean counter, throw me a bone... Now the further from a rail head the longer it takes. I look ever the front every turn, and say what I need. First and formost. If there built back up, or depleated, then click them off or on, if not, let it ride...

RE: Jon's 42 Posts
Spoken like a true modern warrior, and why so many supply convoys were attacked in the gulf war. However during WWI/WWII, when the logistics folks didn't have the emphasis it has now, it was more common to withdraw the units a short distance from the front for refit. Also, what happens if a unit is attacked during refit? Could be a real life disaster if you are in the middle of accepting new equipment.
So is there a change needed to not allow units in contact to refit? At least one hex from front line I would think.

There is no problem too big that can't be solved with the proper use of high explosives

They could refit wherever you want, but make them take a hit with reduced combat power if attacked, then it's your decision whether to risk refit in the front line, or move units back. [:)]

Pyledriver: with a start date of 6/27, Sevastopol should still be in Soviet hands when the scenario starts. When did you capture it?
-Did you strip the Crimea of forces to help out in the north?
-Is there still an entire or most of a Fliegerkorps in the Crimea, if so: why, as you're not trying to advance it seems? Historically, part of it was diverted to help at Kharkov during the Second battle for the city and was relocated again after Sevastopol fell.
-Is there a reason why you are not advancing in that area, as the opposition in the Taman Peninsula area seems to consist of a single Rifle Corps and a unit or stack in Krasnodar? It seems you could make some good gains (moving to Novorossiysk, for example) for minimal losses. It seems there are not a lot of Soviets near Rostov either.
-What's the strategic value of the bulge south of lake Ilmen/why are you defending it? I've been puzzled by that since you started the AAR.
-Is there a reason why you're not placing all or most of your city garrisons in static mode? What do they need mobility for?
-Any idea why the AI didn't strip the Finnish no attack line of all credible units like in Elmo's game, knowing that you can't attack in the area?

Another PzC player over here at Matrix. I'm in and out of several game engines include PzC, SSG, Panther, etc.
I've cranked up Smolensk again in anticipation of this title and a K:DotD upgrade, Across the Dnepr.
Smolesk is such a great PzC battle. One of my favorite of all time and I have (and have had) a bunch.
regards

Hi Hank,
I personally prefer the game scale of the PzC titles and my only concern with this game is the game scale. I have never liked weekly turns and divisional sized units, but i really don't see how else the whole Eastern Front can be covered in one game.
I'm pretty sure that once i get the game my concerns will quickly disappear.

RE: Jon's 42 Posts
Ok guys "refit"...It doesn't mean theres a unit that needs to go back to the Fatherland and we hope to see them in a year...It is a tool where we as a commander say thats the units that need more than the normal replacements...So every units gets replacements, on both sides. Do we say that should effect combat abilty? Yes. We have it built in, because experence levels go down for that unit, with the volume of those replacements...

I hope that screen shot shows that the move is not alone, but tell you theres a grander sceem, and where and why you move there...If you don't have the power to surround a city, don't attack it...Hum I have so much th say and no time...Were getting close on this game, take heart, time flies...Steve in this game you combine the grand game and then the smaller issues...

PyleDriver...Captain B here with a quick question.
In Elmo's AAR he seems to "see" a lot more units behind the lines...yours doesn't. Are you manually doing the recon or are you allowing the computer to do it? Maybe you've just lost a lot of recon aircraft? Great looking screenshots by the way. I especially appreciae the outlining you have on...makes the screen crystal clear and shows how you have kept organizations together.
