I played as the West when Britain was invaded, I had few troops and lost London quickly.
I countered it by placing an HQ in Northern Ireland and having troops in all the hexes, while I built up and reinvaded England.

The game did not finish.
Your game subs seem to be really powerful and may cause problems for your reinforcement, Iceland may be a base option.

Sep 1940

Manchester has fallen. A new carrier and two destroyers that had been build in the docks of Manchester were ordered to set sail and try to escape to Canada. They took a route north of Iceland, but German subs seem to be everywhere. The British ships were spotted and attacked. No survivors.

Scotland has completely fallen to hand of the enemy. A small division at Yorkshire is still defending while more and more German units move towards London.

Australian navy spotted a Japanese sub south of Java. It seems as if Japan sends units for recon. South Pacific nations prepare for war.

Wow, this sounds like a wild one. I always avoided Sea Lion as it struck me that the resources required to do it well would leave ground forces short for Barbarossa and production from Washington & NY more then makes up for the loss of UK production.
Will be interested to see how this one turns out though... sounds like the battle for the Atlantic is going to be intense.

Yes this will be a wild one. If See lion is sucessful I belive it will cut the USA out of France for a long time. Without base in England or Iceland USA will have huge problems with transports of units and Supplays once they decide to interfere in Europe conflict. Also I have a huge adventage of subs now and USA must first win Atlantic battle to open a route to France. And my subs are munerous and with lots of expiriance. And I belive that if Japan plays well the USA will have huge problems there also. All in all after England is Cleared I may cooncentrate on SU.

With this turn I prove that my ideas were right.  I send all my subs to USA and Canada  shores and raid USA and Canada cities. 14 DD II sinked for a loss of 3-4 subs. Now I hope to sink all that USA and Canada may produce same turn as it appear. This means that USA must build planes to stop me, and then ships. Thsi will leave USA and Canada ocupate for at least 3-5 turns. And once they sail out they still must win a see battle.
I didnot have enought strenght to take London, and I am constantly lossing air battles. But that is antaher story.

Damned subs. They blow up my ships right as they slip from dock into water [:@]

More soldiers than citizens in London now.

Again I menage to sink all ships that West produce in USA and Canada cities[:D]. But mayor problem of my version of SEE Lion is a London. City is well defended. Hewy fortified and it inflict hewy loses on my planes [X(]wich tried to soft defence up. And it is a winter now, so I wonder will I be able to take the city before Spring? So I defently wote for a See Lion as must do in a WaW scenario. Any coments?

Turn sent.

Sea Lion is tricky.  I think it is pretty hard if the West is able to evacuate a sufficient garrison from France.

Cveta. The easiest way is to destroy more British troops in London than you lose. The more you destroy the easier you will have it.[:D]

In the end he will have none left.

No really I think London is a hard nut to crack. You'll have to use a fair amount of troops combained with Art, AA and air coverage.

The question is, will you have enough troops to hold on? as he will be producing reserves every turn, cannon fodder for sure but he'll still be killing some of your units too.

London is a huge city with lots of production.
This is how I would do it (though I've never been brave? or foolish? enough to try :-)

All produced units have 8 XP to start with. They will die easily against high XP units.
BUT, remember, he has the advantage of being in a well fortified city, and appartenly has some good AA.
IF you can kill his AA and IF you THEN use level bombers in mass, you can reduce his city defenses to a very low advantage.
Otherwise, use SMG's and infantry guns from all sides.
Good luck!

He has already made the experience that British AA fights well [:D]

If creator of this scenario didnot make costal batteries too strong ( they usualy kill 2-4 LB per attack ) it wont be a problem. But I will find a way. At the moment city is surounded and I dont know will I have a courage to attack. And I know that with every turn he have more soldiers then I , so I must outbuild him and wait for mirracle. Anyway - with control of Atlantic London will fail. The question is will I menage to live with a loses I will suffer in process. And LB and artilery are the best way of reducing entrenchment right? What about see attack? I belive that combination of thouse three will give results. Not the inf. guns? Coment pls.

If you are launching a 5 sided attack on London and are your units are on the same HG, you should get a 200% combat bonus.  You also have good experience and good staff (make sure the HQ is in range).  There is a good chance that London is overstacked.  You should try the attack.

If it fails, you should try other attacks (e.g., do not use every unit in the first attack, just enough to maximize the combat bonus)

Cveta,

Just remember ART is your friend. Unless he has good ART in London and counter-battery is turned on in the scenerio...It's a way for you to soften up the defenses at little to no risk to you.

I've also been playing a solo game (against myself basicaly) of the scenerio and found that it does seem a little too stacked against air-power for my tastes...with the 2 range immobile flak and the strong anti-air capabilities that coastal batteries have it can be really tough/cost inefficient to use air-power effectively in many places.

Dec. 1940 turn to Germany.

Interesting turn... USSR wakes up but no reason given.... also told we get the "Attack Turkey" card but don't actually get the card. At peace with all and can't attack anyone.....

China.... freezing and starving because we're short of supplies because of missing city. Good time for Japan to attack.........

Turkey wakes up as a separate country.... because Germany attacked it. Maybe this is why Russia woke up...?
Turkey is pretty pointless to play as a separate country because as soon as Istambul is taken the Turks have no more supplies..... So Germany attacks before Turkey can do anything then on it's turn it can only build in Istambul but Germany will attack before production complete so why bother....... maybe make Ankara a supply source at least....

Jan. 1941 turn to Germany.

USSR now gets message that it's worried about German advancement in Europe. Maybe this is just because it's 1941? Also my industry was at 100% lasat turn and is now at 50% as per normal Russian startup. See lots of Germans on border! Hope for long winter.........

China, hanging on in the cold.

Turkey.... didn't surrender with the fall of Istambul.... Also seems I managed to rescue enough supplies from Istambul to ffed the troops for about 9 turns. Let's see how much troulble they can get into... :)

I dont see any point on futher advance in Turkey. I take Istambul, open up a Black see for my ships, and that is about it. Now I must prepare for a SU invasion. I wonder why SU have a 100% production. It should start with 50%.
I like At much but seems to me that WaW is realy bugged scenario. I hope that now new bugs will come becouse they kill the fun in game.
Situation in London is still the same. I hit town with Art, did aproximatly 500-600 demage per turn, and every new turn production is again to 8000 and there is no enginers in town ( or maybe there are??? ). How fast the town is repairing?
USa start to build planes. I belive that this is the only way to counter my sub domination in Atlantic. We will see.
And Italians reach Cairo. I never thought to see that.
Tweber - 200% bonus if units are attached to same HQ. Looks nice. Never menage to get 200% bonus in a fight.

Cities repair at a rate of 10% of their total. So 8000PP city repairs 800PP/turn. 4000PP at 400PP/turn etc.

You'll need to do more than 800 damage to London per turn to have any real affect.

Russia now at 50% production. I think it was just something weird with your attack on Turkey waking up Russia early... not a deal breaker as the production % changed before any of my units were made... :(.

Explorer2, if you're reading this, I think that Gallipoli should be on the Turkish side of the straits to make it at least a little difficult for the Axis to capture both points to access the Black Sea. Might not be 1005 accurate but more challenging game play.
