If you're using U or the right click menu to pop up the unit menu, I think it makes sense,

I generally play mouse heavy and keyboard light, so I'll give the 'U' button a try. Thanks!

I've posted this elsewhere, but it bears repeating here: If you delete the "Opart 3 Fonts.ini" file, the game will generate a default one for you.

Working with the Opart 3 - Win98.

Installed the 3.4.0.173, then copied the files from the 3.4.0.178 in the Opart III Folder. Double clicking the 'Opart 3 -Windows 98.exe' gives this message:

I found a GDIPLUS.DLL on the WinXP machine, so I put it on the Win98 machine in the Opart folder and it opened. It takes a real long time to load (2-3 minutes?) and the graphics are all wonky. I'll poke around a bit and see if I can continue to act like I know what am doing!

Comparing the 'Advanced Game Options' from the XP to the 98, some were different, so I made them all the same as the XP machine (as that one looks ok) and now it seems fine. Maybe it was the 'Support PNG Graphics' being 'On' ?

PNG was probably the problem. I'm glad you got thing working.

It still takes 3 minutes to load, either a scenario or the editor. That's something not worth wasting time trying to figure out. It's like dealing with a funky carbuerator on an old car - as long as it eventually gets going, I don't have to buy a new one. [:D]

Maybe a 'GDIPLUS.DLL' might have to be added to the '98 download? Because if by chance someone is operating solely with a Win98 machine, they won't have anywhere to get this file.

Thank you for adding in the Win98 compatability, and the WinXP compatability. I and some others are very grateful. [&o]

If they only have a win 98 machine, I won't hear from them for a couple of months while they download by dial-up;) Seriously, I can't include GDIPLUS, I don't have rights to do so, i believe it is only authorized to be distributed with XP and above. I can look at whether it's needed for win 98 for 3.5.

Wikipedia says it isn't supported after March of 2008, so it's a security risk, and FireFox is probably the most like it.

Remember, we can't see sarcasm here.

I had no clue, but it was just a suggestion. I hope I don't get in trouble for putting it on my 98 machine (sarcasm).

Not to do with .178, but with 3.4, we've noticed the PO will move units that are in garrison mode as if they are in reserve status. The what's new from 3.2 in 2007 says this was fixed. Maybe this is something from the past that has resurfaced.

Well, it was only half-sarcastic.

Can you please post or email a save file and description of how to reproduce it?

Sorry, emoticons seem to be broken most of the time on the iPad for this forum, about 1/2 the time it loses my typing, or I would have included the rolling eyes smiley. I doubt that there's any issue, and MS isn't likely to come bursting in the door (probably, I'm not a lawyer.) There, I think I included enough hedging[:D].

Weird... I've noticed nothing wrong in my mod of Bagration To Berlin, in which I've got several Red Army formations in Garrison status, only to be activated by event.
Note that units in Garrison will behave normally once forced to retreat

[Sending files to Ralph].

If I attack any of the German units (all of which are in garrison), any adjacent German unit will jump out of garrison and come to the rescue. I've done it repeatedly on both the XP and 98 machines. TPOO has recreated it in D21.

I tried to recreate this in Festung Kolberg (small enough to change stuff without too much work) in .178
I set all German formations on garrison, attack and let the PO do its thing. I only see the units which have been pushed away moving or engaging in combat as should be the case
Let's hope Ralph can find out what's wrong with your case

I did the same thing, put all the Koberg German units in garrison and then made some attacks. The '1.Abt.Feldaus.Reg' jumped out of hex 35,10 (while in garrison) and into hex 36,10, which I had attacked.

Hey Silvanski, I sent you a file so maybe if you want you can try it.

Can we use the Patch in a running PBEM game?
Mainly interested in this fix:
3.4.0.176
inventory and replacements dialog not showing in PBEM mode

Big Duke,
If you've already upgraded to 173, then both will need to upgrade to 178 Alpha. If you haven't, then I'd wait until the production patch.

Yes just started my WW2 tour with "Poland 1939" using 173.
OK than I talk to my opponent and see if he agrees to upgrade.
Thanks for the quick answer.
