I have already limited my PzIIIH's not to fire at anything greater than 600 meters. Otherwise I can use up a lot of ammo for very little results.

This is a favorite battle of mine. Because there is so much maneuver here. The exact opposite of what you think should happen does. The Germans have to CLOSE the range to take out the Russian tanks. Long range shooting only works if you can knock out your targets.

As far as Mobius and I as a team, we do pretty well. Between us we have the Eastern Front covered. It's a rare occasion that one or both of us don't have technical, statistical, production and tactical employment information on any given vehicle. As J2D has shown he has T-34/57's in this fight. Among other things.

As J2D has said, the development team is really talented and they have given the PCO gamer a great new game. For those wanting to do scenario design work or to mod the game is fully capable of accepting anything gamer made as well.

The level of detail you can put in PCO should satisfy most gamers and grogs. Twice we have tracked down the locations of individual vehicles on the Eastern Front then used MM to make a map of that area.

Good Hunting.

From the TAC map you can see that I've just started to enter the valley. My forces are the solid blue squares.

J2D's forces are somewhere in here. I'm sure I'll know where before the fight is over.

Good Hunting.

The sub unit to the left didn't withdraw far enough before he bogged. Then he got hit on a track, then stunned. He recovered from stunned but still bogged, Sgt Batyuk abandoned the tank. 4 incoming target lines must have scared him.

Guys,
I love it. Everytime you post a screen shot I see something even better.

Those shots of the 2K map are amazing. They really give a feel to the vast distances that comprised much of the eastern front. You guys show off your talents with every picture. Please keep posting. There is so much to be excited about.

Can you show us some more screenshots of the ground textures?  What does the various grass coverage look like?

These are the current crop of grass textures. You pick from these in the map maker but then adjust the amount of blur to taste. So every designer is going to look a little different. Because of how LOS is done we can't have a lot of standing grasses with the current minimum requirements.

I'm not sure if that is what you wanted.

You can always add your own too. Places like turbosquid have freeware. We can't use them in a commercial release but users can make maps with them and share with others.

BTW I was playtesting mobius scenario on the map previous to the one pictured. He stated that he had new information and needed to redo the map. I told him not to throw the map away, it will be great for random battles. And so it is.

The textures themselves have a range of from soft to hard from 1 to 999. So each of those textures has 999 display options for the map you're making.

We provide almost 100 base textures for you to choose from.

You can add your own as they as they are just simple bitmaps.

The Map Maker also allows programatic texture mods on the fly, like changing texture angle, tile, blur, transparency, contrast, hue & saturation. So the possiblities really are endless.

Further once the map is finished, Map Maker will generate a "megatexture" of the map which you can edit in any paint program, so that you can then draw on whatever you like.

Is the mapmaker going to come with some sort of guide/manual to help us out?
