Look forward to this, not to be polemic but a pity the team play aspect was not integrated into the game.

It wouldn't take much, one would think. Just the ability to have create a player list and have multiple 'Save as PBEM' stages before the final end of turn save...

A very cool feature if the Europe version comes out in future.

It certainly would be, especially if it modeled the differing agendas of each nation even if they were on the same side[:)]

The Europe game would be fun with players for Italians, Roumanians etc

I would have thought that your AAR policy is yours to determine as the Soviets... I can't imagine any of us peeking.

Well, Bob's post implied that he would like it as sort of a house rule, which is why I was a bit surprised. I don't really see the problem with posting updates starting on turn 1.

Having said that, just so everybody reads it: probably the most preferable way to end the turn is for the last player with an army group or front command to send the turn back to OKH/STAVKA so they can apply some finishing touches and send it. If the last player sends it without sending it back to the OKH or STAVKA player, some strange strategic deployments will inevitably pop-up.

Agreed, I will want to Move Airbases and convert raillines based on the location of front lines.

OK, well I am now assuming my subordinate role as commander of AGN and leaving it to my betters to make the strategic and administrative decisions.

By the way, I assume that OKH covers the Finns? I missed them off my original list. That will give you some front line excitement...

I'd still be in favour of a no strategic bombing houserule. With the increase in factory movement costs, the Axis putting a factory like the T-34 factory out of production, or preventing it from expanding is still too much of a burden. I do have to say that I haven't tested the strategic bombing changes, so maybe it's not too bad. Still, 1% damage prevents expansion, and the Romanians can bomb Kharkov on turn 1.

In return, I promise not to cheese the Luftwaffe out of existence by bombing your air bases at least until AA does something and CAP is not the "no effect or more or less complete nullifier" it is now. Currently, even 300 AA guns don't necessarily shoot anything down or prevent damage. The interdiction losses I'm taking for an attack on a hex with a good AA concentration are usually quite significant, even if a lot of AA is present, and AA doesn't shoot down much in ground battles either it seems.

Wasn't there an AAR by you testers where a Soviet city had a lot heavy AA ( 85mm ) and the Luftwaffe took pretty serious casualties attacking the city?

Yes I will take responsibility for the Finns until you capture Leningrad.[;)]

Hmm, I do seem to recall someone bombing Leningrad, but I'm pretty sure the huge concentration of AA didn't do too much.

WOW, sounds like a very ambitious plan to have 8 players in on this.  I'm very much looking forward to following this AAR,  I take it OKH and STAVKA will decide who gets what for newly arriving divisions and support units?  Good luck Axis...yeaaa [:'(]

I thought I saw something in the tester forum about how the city flak had gotten much stronger against city bombing. I thought I even saw Pavel say he might tone it back down since he had increased it quite a bit. This was in beta 4.

Hope it avoids the problems that came up when they tried a team AAR of AACW over at Ageod.

Will be following this with great interest.

Team games can be a problem for scenarios that more or less require a team as they're too big for one player, as when someone drops out you need a replacement. As the campaign is perfectly playable 1 vs 1, I don't expect many problems. If someone drops out, someone else will step in or a player will (temporarily) take over.

I'll be watching this. Willing to step in if necessary (except STAVKA and OKH).

Nice to know you have confidence in me! Let's hope the Soviet team feels the same way :)

The beauty of the game is that we can revert all the way down to 1-1 if loads of people drop out and nobody volunteers to replace them (can't imagine it though)...

I should of spelled it out :) Over at that forum, they played a six player campaign. The North side had a big problem for awhile because the Northern President pretty much reduced his two players to observers.

Ah yes, that would be rather annoying. Obviously I'll take control of some units, but I'll leave the fronts to their commanders in the vast majority of cases, possibly changing deployments a bit so the front is protected by the reserves I've moved up.

Players can always stage a 'coup' by mutual consent, informing the other side that their leader has gone crazy and refusing to send him any more game turns ;)

Likewise if one player turns out to be completely weird (AGN races off towards Kiev, for example) the STAVKA/OKH can just remove him from the email cc list and inform everyone else...
