I think the scale of this is about right at 78 pixels approximately. Suggestions for improvement gratefully received. I came across a few other pictures of HMAS Crusader when researching this. The best selection seems to be here, but you need to register to see them.

Hi Don,

I read these threads as much to learn about WWII as to keep up on mods to the game. Would you mind explaining what this ship is/does? I tried to google it, but didn't find much. HSCS Crusader has a lot of stuff, though.

It was an Australian Army (not Navy) ship.

Looking at the linked page, it seems the port of entry should be Melbourne. Is this ship going into Da Babes?

Dunno Andrew. I think Babes is put to rest, so maybe not. I am working on my own scenario, an extension to "Babes" which I call "Zygotes". It runs till the end of '46.

It, and a lot of other stuff, will go in there.

For such a late war, i found some interesting informations about what the French planned to send in the Pacific by Oct/Nov 1945 to support the allied effort against Japan.
(IRL only few ships were sent to takeover Indochina, as the war ended).

BB Richelieu will stay.

3 La Galissonnière 7000t cruisers
Emile Bertin cruiser
4 Le Fantasque class
6 River class
6 US DE Class
15 light ships (i can imagine some Elan aviso class and some US PC class)
1 AR (may be Jules Verne)
3 AMC (surely Quercy/Esterel/Barfleur)
3 Liberty ships
3 Tanker (may be Var and others).

My stab at the 105' Mickey Mouse, with acoustic hammer. I've used images from the Navypedia and Netherlands Navy sites as my sources, which are a bit different from yours.

Bearn is not mentionned in the other list i found, about ships to be sent to fight Japan.
But yes, he was sent IRL in late 1945 to carry planes to Indochina when the war was over.

AO Var is one of the Mekong Class :

Moteurs : 2 diesels B&W - 4850 CV - vitesse : 13,5 noeuds

2 x 100mm + 2 x 37mm AA in 1930 then 4 x 40mm and 6 x 20mm after retrofit in 1943 in USA.

Var, Elorn and Mekong survived the war.

Useful as the ship might have been and as advanced as its design, Crusader seems like a waste of a really good name.
