Hey Jess,

What happened to Gary?? Is he bailing on me??

Anyway, utilizing artillery with C&C ON is based on order points. It costs 1 order point to call in 1 unit of artillery. Usually the A0 and your forward observers have the most order points which means that they can call in the most artillery units. But even an A0 with 5 order points (for example) can only call in 5 artillery units. And since units recover order points at a rate of 1 or 2 points per turn, then it can take a while before a unit recovers its maximum number of order points.

Units out of contact cannot call in artillery and units with no order points cannot call in artillery. Artillery units out of contact cannot be called.

That's really all there is to it.

I really don't understand why more experienced players don't use C&C. It's like the difference between playing on the Beginner Level (C&C OFF) and the Master Level (C&C ON). With C&C ON players have to follow a chain of command, they have to preserve formation integrity, they have to make better plans and set military objectives, they have to coordinate artillery, they have to learn how to react to adversity, etc... In other words, many of the actual things a "real-life" commander must deal with.

To me, playing with C&C OFF is like playing a video arcade game. I guess that's okay for novices and people who don't want to deal with the challenges of command. But I believe that playing with C&C ON is a fundamental qualification for everybody who wants to call themselves "serious" SPWAW gamers.

Happy Gaming,
Victor

Vahauser are you now playing with Jess? I was a little busy this weekend, Christmas shopping and parties and all. But you did not even give me a day to respond. :(

Hi Gary,

Long time no see, stranger! :)

I can reset into a different slot and you and I can still play this thing! Okay? Give the word and I'll make it happen.
