Do you like the D.C.S. ?
After tweaking systems for WS I found that the sole system all of my favorite titans are lacking is the D.C.S.
Here is what I'm aiming for when building a heavy (not counting mandatory systems) :
1. B.C.
2.Scanner
3.Jump
4.Shield
5.E.C.M.
E.C.M.s will go up the list if playing against humans.
I decreased repair time for D.C.S. but they are still not amongst my favorite systems.
Is this me and my style or should they get some improvements ?

I would love to see some tweaks of the D.C.S.
If they worked even just a little faster it would give you one more dilema to be on the horns of:p
Right now, with the slow recycle time, repairing systems takes to long in a close situation. If DCS worked faster then chosing wether or not to repair or fire would become a much harder choice. At the moment the reason that my designs have good DCS systems is to prevent ammo explosions and to gain the benefit of the "automatic fixes" that the computer rolls for you.

My feelings on the DCS are basically the same as yours, Larkin, with a bit of Hetz's. If I've got room left over, I'll put one in, but the only time I find it worth using is when you can hide behind some cover for quite a long time.

I totally agree with PC. I rarely use the DCS because it stops me from attacking for so long, even with high skill and the best DCS. If we had the choice to use it in place of either moving or attacking, it would be used far more often by me.

On the other hand, if you get some evil b****** who comes after you with meson guns, the DCS suddenly becomes your best friend.

With me, DCS ranks right after ECM and before shield. It does have a multitude of uses besides meson protection. I like having one in a titan that is heavily dependent on ammo. It is also a real money saver in squads - both in prevention and in "mop up phase" field repairs. And it awards BOATLOADS of XP.
(and before anyone starts saying the usual about money and stuff, it's WS we're talking about, not v1.4 - money has been reworked, mesons are more powerful; and there's the Claw and the EMP)
Repair times being decreased is good, ideal would be to have them work much the same way as scanners - a lousy damage control skill yields high repair times, a *very good* skill will make the repair time "fit" most weapons' recycle times.

Very good points, all of them. We'll like the DCS much more in WS. And having the time reduced that much would be perfect.

OK. I increased repair speed. A D.C.S.6 handled with a skill of
60 will repair light damage in 12 seconds, 30 seconds for a D.C.S.1
Very nice! I can't wait to try that out. It might revise a lot of opinions of DCS.
