Cox's Bazar has been dubbed "The Bombardment Buffet" by the Imperial Department of Propaganda. The bombardment by 3 battleships and 3 heavy cruisers brought the 7th's disruption to 35%. Much better than before, presumably having time to dig in being the difference.

At any rate given the reinforcements to the enemy's position we have no intention of ordering an assault before our own reinforcements are in place. The bombardment force remained in place - perhaps they will stay for another helping at the buffet? An unidentified Imperial unit has arrived at Katha, presumed to be armored. More than 80,000 troops are racing through the jungle to flank Katha and cut the road of retreat. The pursuit north of Lashio continues.

In Australia the closest of the Empire's forces are 92mi north of Tennant Creek, and over flights have determined that at least one unit is heading east, off the road toward the Gulf of Carpentaria. They must mean to gain the road to Normanton. Other forces continue down the road to Tennant Creek itself.

The overall situations in Burma, Australia, and China each deserve their own maps this day, but China won the toss. An Imperial unit has been spotted in the forest 92mi west of Ichang. Likewise some of the Imperial troops across the river from Changteh are heading west off the road to flank the city. In both cases Chinese forces were deployed to defensive positions in anticipation.

That TF SW of Christmas Island has to be a CL/DD raider group looking for traffic between Perth and Capetown.
With all the other action going on I can't see him starting a new invasion of western Oz.

Seems in an odd spot, though. I figure either a raider group, or something making a wide swing to gain western Oz without running over the expected submarine patrols.

There is another, less positive development. At least one IJA unit has appeared in the forest midway between Patung and Changteh. Aerial recon is ordered and reinforcements are being sent to the area. The Imperials are making for the road below Patung, and although it is already defended the strength of the enemy is unknown.

Here is that picture of Australia. Bombing raids are commencing against that unidentified unit outside of Tennant Creek.

A pursuing IJA unit has caught up to the Allied units passing through Bhamo. Most will be out tomorrow before combat, but the armoured unit which opened the door will need a second day. A number of IJA units have made Katha and an attack is expected tomorrow. Some units have exited Katha already and more will tomorrow, but several units will get hammered. The American and Australian reinforcements from Australia have been on the rail net for several days and will pull into Chittagong tomorrow. The 70th British Infantry division will start marching toward Cox's Bazar. If scouting does not reveal the presence of the two American divisions at Chittagong, perhaps the commitment of the 70th will draw an invasion of Chittagong in an attempt to cut off the forward defense of India. Here is a look at Burma, with those units railing to Chittagong highlighted. Over at the Chinese border those are 2 IJA units across the river from Paoshan.

Nice brick wall at Liuchow. Will the unit coming from Kweilin enable you to throw back the other IJA troops?

The unit coming from Kweilin is to hold open the hex between Kweilin and Liuchow. I presume some of the IJA forces are marching there now but are not scouted as doing so. I have learned the hard way that many units just don't scout around them that well. I figure that has to do with experience and leader stats, and that means most of the Chinese units are weak in that area until much later.

NE of Liuchow I will have a far superior force that will evict the brigade sized unit there. Some will them reinforce the hex between Liuchow and Kweilin.

As for Liuchow itself, I figure that I have enough troops to hold. As for throwing them out, well, you have to be very careful with Chinese units at this stage or you smash them against a stone wall, so to speak. Throw them out... maybe. We'll see.

Two attacks tomorrow. The first will take place outside of Kweilin and really should expel the infiltrators.

The second will be to the east of Tennant Creek and should easily smash the small and weakened recon unit that is trying to flank Tennant Creek. That formation has been under air attack since they made that hex to slow their movement so they should be in place tomorrow for the attack.

There are now 2 Imperial units in Tennant Creek and 2 more are just to the northwest making for the town.

Those tanks are moving back into town ASAP to bolster defenses against the arriving enemy reinforcements.

Back in China there are at least 4 Imperil units NW of Changteh moving to cross the river and cut the road leading west from Changteh. In India, an unidentified Imperial unit has moved through the jungle and sits astride the road east/north from Cox's Bazar. The 3rd Cavalry Regiment (with 54 Humber I AFVs) holds the road at this time, but a strong enough force could dislodge them. Wellingtons are ordered to make an air attack tomorrow to aid the ground defense. The British 70th Division is on the move and will probably make the scene - in marching formation - the day after tomorrow. Here is a look.

Nice job at Kweilin and outside Tennant Creek & Katherine. Your opponent seems to push forward his attackers without considering that they can be destroyed in detail if they do not advance at the same pace.
Your Chinese troops must be getting good experience numbers now. Hope they can get enough bullets to hold back the Imperial horde.

Thanks!

I'm confident of the forces I can bring at Tennant Creek, but not the supplies. I think next turn I have to pull out the larger (16-plane) fighter squadron because supplies are steadily dropping. Those pesky bombing raids, while not doing much damage, are chewing up supplies. All Allied bombing runs in the area are coming from Alice Springs so we can keep those up every day the crews and planes are ready. I was glad to see a supply(-) for the Empire's recon unit when it was thrashed. At least the supply sword is cutting both ways in that remote location.

Near Liuchow, I'm not very confident of either forces or supplies. The troops at Liuchow, while sufficient in number, are getting hammered from the air and lacking adequate supplies for big fights. Those in the forest are better off for air attacks but not much else. The units' experience is a mixed bag. Many are still in the 40s but better than at start, and some are 50+. I think some of the units now rebuilding at Chungking are 50+.

The Empire struck at Tennant Creek and annihilated our supplies there. Both fighter squadrons have been pulled back, sans a plane repairing. The outcome of the assault was heavily in our favor even though the armor has yet to make it back to town.

There is little doubt they will attack tomorrow, so the B-17s have been ordered to attack from a mile altitude. The Wellingtons did not fly today so hopefully they will join the raid tomorrow. The 70th needs to make 14 more miles to be part of the defense. Keep your fingers crossed!

Here is a look at Australia. Notice that one of the Imperial units is working its way around Tennant Creek in the other direction and will ultimately have to be expelled by the armored contingent.

Does he have a garrison at Daly Waters? Any chance one of those units on the road from Normanton could wander up there and cut off the group around Tennant Creek? It wouldn't have to hold Daly Waters, just take it and then march southward to tear up the enemy supply path.

I thought about that, but in the wide open spaces air attacks are murder. Close in to Tennant Creek is a different story (or at least was when there were fighters there) and I am planning to use one or both of those units to cut the road (which will hurt their already bad supply route) and maybe even try to trap the units inside Tennant Creek in there to starve (by taking control of the relevant hex side).

There is a second USA regiment on its way to Normanton to back fill the defenses there. Cloncurry is well defended and is building the airfield. C-33 transports from there have been flying supplies into Tennant Creek daily for some time now. Additional armor is being redirected from the Perth area to Alice Springs for deployment in the Tennant Creek campaign.

Both sides put in air attacks, but it looks like they were without impact. The 70th will switch to move mode as they only made 9 miles today after being attacked from the air. With 5 more miles to go combat mode is not assured to get them there.

At Tennant Creek our forces will attack tomorrow. Supplies should be adequate and there will be air attacks by all B-17s and B-26s at Alice Springs. With luck the Imperial forces will still be feeling significant enough effects from their attack of yesterday.

China has become infiltration central. An unknown strength unit now sits between Liuchow and Kweilin, the road only being open because we positioned troops there first. Help is on the way but will not arrive tomorrow.

27% disruption for the 7th Australian. Meanwhile, over at Tennant Creek the IJA unit maneuvering to the west has made it to the road to Alice Springs, blocking it. The armored units are now moving back from Tennant Creek intent on evicting them. First they participated in today's melee.
