Achtung Panzer:Operation Star is an Eastern Front wargame with solid graphics and sprawling battlefields that really emphasize the scope of WWII tank combat. The gameplay is a remarkably realistic turn-based and real-time operational/tactical hybrid wargame that continues the series begun by the acclaimed Achtung Panzer: Kharkov 1943.
I am posting this here so that we can test and discuss because I can't upload images to the Graviteam forum.
I set a Mech unit to use road movement and cross the river at a ford. This is what happened. I ran this test 4 times and got the same result 3 time, with only 1 successful crossing.
Note that the enemy is deployed on the far side of the map, so this move is not done under fire.
You have to set the waypoints perfect when crossing a frozen river, I see no problem that a tank may end up going off line at night to be honest it's happened to mine before, I learnt to set way points to individual tanks when fording a river.
Setting waypoints is the key when travelling distance over poor and dangerous terrain, like most games I think.
Also maybe the district patch helps with some maps and the pathing.
Don't Have game loaded up but don't you need Icon with tank on road
for tank to follow road.? Pretty sure you do. The option of not being that Icon
being pick make vehicular move "stealth" or something...I have to recheck manual.
Looking at manual... movement order.... move by road says yes/no( i guess unit gets to pick).
The new Icon with tank on road was introduce with patch correct??
Yes the tank on road icon is for ctrl-v..tank on road.
Look under control on main page or from mini map.
While few men, legislators or otherwise, have felt down the years
that they could command ships of the line or marshal air armies
without specialized training, almost any fool has felt in his heart
he could command a regiment.
