This is the arrangement as it is now: I've split off the escort because he's 11 knots max and the transports are something like 17 knots
so it made sense to take him off for now and park him along the return path of the TF so as to start to follow and then re-join the
transports after the emergency drop-off. First escort, the PB, then the escortee's.

The sound track for this next paragraph...click this line

One act into a three-act play at it were. Part of the eternal dance of war. Participants in a process that's been going on for as long as
there was a different tribe. As if disease, poverty, catastrophic desolation as a daily possibility, as if these aren't enough to distroy
human society there was war to cap it off. Take care of the rest as it were. No one gets a free ride....it's tough for everybody. A part of
reality we'd rather not know about all day long everyday. That's why alcohol was invented We discovered that it gave you a different
ride. Took some of the pain away for awhile. And we've been looking for escapes as long as there have been people. Just to exist has it's own kind of pain when you actually stop to figure it all out. Something having to do with Compassion and Empthy and being
good. There are some parts about truth that are better not known. Until you're ready to handle the responsibility that comes with just
knowing something that's true. If there's something about the situation that might engender pain in another, it's often up to you to
Act upon that knowledge to prevent that pain. To actually do something. Not knowing what to do is frustrating. It's trying to do some-
thing unpopular that is really hard. Your efforts are resisted and ridiculed and not even considered. At least you tried.

That kind of situation.

I'm going through my moves for Rob's game still but it just occured to me that I've lived long enough now to see how it might be possible
for me to be a resurrected reincarnate person and could have been the captain of the ship depicted in this image. Or maybe I've
lived different lives many times and now I'm pretending to be some old guy in a trailer park on the outskirts of Tucson playing WITP-AE
and thinking about ship boat captains.

That kind of situation

Here's the latest combat results:

This is the first of several encounters that CL Sumatra has with Jap ships. This picture is the morning after the night-time encounter
but you get the point.

Jim likes to get his subs into my major shipping lanes and troll there for ships. I finally got a hit on one of his subs.

I did a little night-time bombardment of Cebu and most of the casualties that resulted were non-combat related. D'oh. I'll have to keep
trying I guess.

Most of my heavier guns are up in the Cebu area and unavailable. I'm hoping I can neutralize the Samatra w/ the carriers. I've got my
fingers crossed.

It appears that operation SKIDDING CAR Two is over because the Allied planes appear to be gone from Wenchow. So the Jap planes
can concentrate on some other target.

Here's another raid by the Japs and there was only one damaged plane but there was no Allied damage listed which leads me to
believe that there was none and maybe these raids are a waste. But on the other hand they buck up the morale of the men down
there so since I'm not losing very many planes I'll keep going with the raids to help the men on the ground. Plus it's good training for
the pilots.

Here's another one of those raids on the 22nd Indian Brigade that nets a few ground soldiers and damages a plane or two and they
are dropping those 500 lb hard-bombs instead of the daisy cutters that might do some good. But the ground commander is thankful
for the help he IS getting after all, and he says to the commander of the flight "....Wow You don't know all the good you're doing".
To which the pilot had to agree......he really DIDN'T know all the good he was doing.

Here's where a flight of 9 Lilly's tried to raid the home base ( it appears ) of the AVG. They got chewed up pretty good. I think I'll
stand them down for a day or two to let them recover from this drama. A day off as it were.

EDIT: I found one unit of Lilly's that were already on stand-down...so I assigned them a ground mission instead because their
morale was high and the fatigue hadn't even hit the lowest peg on the gauge yet.

And then there was a ground attack by some Sonia's at Manila. They had to contend with some P-40's and got chewed up but not
so badly. And then they bombed from 5,000 feet. No Allied damage was listed so I guess there was none. D'oh.

And then some 10 Allied bombers attacked me and I shot down 2 of them. About 6 were damaged I'm guessing.

Location code named Mole Man got hit again. I've finally decided that Mole Man needs some Nate's for CAP and I've assigned about
40 of them for that duty. I've got some AF dudes on the road and they should be there within a week I'm hoping some of those Nates
will still be flyable at the end of that week. If not those AF dudes will have some workload on their hands. I may have to send a 2nd
AF dudes unit just in case.

And then I tried another raid on the AVG base in China and the losses weren't so bad. Still not enough damage done to have paid so
much for the mission.
