RE: Artillery changing sides in barbarrosa
Umm.
Maybe I'm missing something, but ...
* There's NO artillery in the overstacked hex.
Do you mean *armour*???
* There seems to be no hex on the larger map (in the background) or in the one in the message box that actually contains any of the units shown to be in the overstacked hex.
???

The German units are under the katyusha.

What phase of the game are we in?
Did the Russian artillery just ground strike the German units?
Can you reproduce this? If so, please send us a saved game with instructions on how to reproduce (MadExcept@MatrixGames.com).

Ah.
So. In short ... one picture wasn't worth any words without an actual explanation [:D]

The picture shows what happened just right after USSR airstrikes. USSR artillery striked those 3 german units and after that the soviet unit remained stacked with its targets[&:], when next phase began ( USSR rail movement) program calculated one overstack in the target hex forcing me to destroy one german unit [:@].
I can´t reproduce this because every time I tried to load that game the program crash with this message "Error loading saved game "C:\Matrix Games\World in Flames\Scenarios\Barbarossa\Saved Games\yo7.GAM"."
RE: Artillery changing sides in barbarrosa
Is not being able to load saved games a big problem, or an isolated one? I'm still contemplating a purchase and I just want to sure and not sorry!!

Here's a suggestion that may work for you if you didn't turn off Autosaves. Find an Autosave with a time stamp close to - but prior to - the one of yo7.GAM. Load that and see if you can continue.
If the same thing happens you can send the game file in along with info on how to reproduce.

Do you have the file name extension GAM associated with another game? That was a problem we ran into when beta testing and there is a warning about it in 1.2 of the Players Manual on how to install the game.ORIGINAL: jaimain

Another possibility is that you have not upgraded to version 1.0.1 (aka v1.01). There was a problem for some players with restoring saved games that was fixed in that update.
If neither of those situations apply to you, then one last possibility is that there was a MadExcept error at sometime during the game which caused the saved game file to be incomplete when it was written out to disk.

1-No I haven´t the fle extension Gam to another game.
2-I´m running MWIF 1.0.1.
I don´t know if there was a MadExcept error.

Steve is saying if it is not 1 or 2, then it needs to be mad except error, and so he is asking you to send the previous savegame you can find, to the address indicated, so that he can try to reproduce it.

I had this hapen to me as well in one of my earlier attempts at invading Russia. I didn't save the game at all I just kind of laughed. I'm just really not helpful at all here except just to say this actually happens.

I'll try to figure out why.
