How will they use their carriers to counter you? They will, as they seem like they want to hit back desperately.

Careful with those CVEs as raiders. That didn't work out so well for me in my last AAR. They are slow and have limited range.

What I posted was kind'a mean, I retract it. You made me rethink my own CV search preferences though with that spot on the US carriers. While I tend to overload with spotting aircraft, I never look beyond that 280nm limit of the 1000lber. Now I wonder how to arrange my squadron missions to avoid this little faux pas.
ps. To John: I tried to PM you what I wrote in case you were curious, but your mail box is full!
No problem Sir.
I just cleared out a bunch of my in box. Send away if you get the chance.

Thanks CT.
Do you have a differing suggestion? I could use CVLs or even Junyo-Hiyo when they are completed. Very curious about alternate ideas. No ego here. If you have a differing opinion/idea/suggestion, SING OUT!

After that Raid on Christmas I am counting on them trying something....unwise...
Have toyed with keeping my CVs near the Line Islands or Johnston and ACT like they are down south with the major offensive operations. I mean who in their RIGHT MIND would launch a major set of offensives without CV airpower?!! Might shock the living tar out of them if they think I am down there, they make a move towards Midway--Johnston--Line Islands and find SIX CVs all primed and ready. Got to LIKE that idea!

RE: A Game of INCHES??
Try dangling the CVEs as bait with your CVs lurking nearby is one idea. Otherwise, use the CVEs perhaps but only if you know the USN CVs are elsewhere.

Kates and Zeros are set for NINE hexes.
It was my understanding that CV strikes are hardcoded to a max range of 7 for the allies and 8 for the Japanese?

Major Japanese Operations are concurrently underway.
In the SE we have the Invasion TF heading for Pago Pago and Tahiti.
Operation Shimakaze is well underway with TFs heading for Esperance and Geraldton Australia.
Operation Maikaze just took Denpasar and is now heading for Broome and then Darwin. Am creating an air bridge of Denpasar--Broome--Geraldton/Esperance.
Port Blair is about to be taken in the west.

Here is the current VP Screen. Notice number of ships sunk. The Victory Point situation is not totally out of hand but once Manila falls and the current operations are completed I expect to be at the 3-1/3.5-1 mark.

North China

North China has been the goal all through the start of the war. We took the oil production center in the north two days ago. There are 3 TK Reg, 1 Armored Cav unit in Langchow. On the road there are an Inf Div, Inf Brigade, Cav unit, TK Reg, and a Base Force. The Chinese are hamstrung economically now. As soon as we cut the Burma Road they can simply whither on the vine...
Nanchang is at Fort 0 presently. Next assault will capture it.

In my books they have made a HUGE mistake in China. When Jim took this over from Larry he evacuated and attempted to consolidate his lines. At that point I had two Inf Div at Changsha holding the Chinese THERE. No intention of taking Changsha whatsoever until Jim pulled back. I timed an attack when half most of the Chinese had left and forced the Chinese across the river inflicting almost 15,000 casualties. I waited for garrison troops to arrive at the newly captured city and add a third ID to the attack. We took the city across from Changsha on the FIRST attack. Just took Henyang yesterday. There goes the industrial heartland of China and I NEVER WANTED IT!
I've forced about 13 units back towards Wenchow. Intend to surround the hex and move troops in for a mass surrender of what looks to be 16 Chinese units. This will take a couple of months and it is the next major operation in the south.
For all intents and purposes I am done in China. Have taken far more then I wanted or planned on so we're good. Time to start digging in and re-arrange the Chinese Air Force.

South Pacific
On this day Tahiti falls to the Imperial Guards Brigade. A large Base Force with 40,000 supply immediately begins unloading. Four Engineering units will land in 3-4 days to speed construction and base expansion. The Imperial Guards load to then spread out and take every base within 6 hexes of Tahiti.
The 2nd Infantry Division will land at Pago Pago in three days. It is covered by two CVLs. There are Squadrons of Wildcats and Vindicators present so we need some ZERO CAP baby!
Australia
Landing will take place at Broome, Geraldton, and Esperance within 4-7 days. No TF have been spotted as they slip south past Perth. Looking good here as well...

The Allies are now getting both barrels of the Japanese shotgun!
SE Pacific
Tahiti has fallen and the 2nd ID lands at Pago Pago. A small host of shipping seeks to flee that base presently. My 2 CVLs hit 3 TK and two small STF are formed to bag more shipping. The landing went well though we fought off almost 300 CD shots. Will launch a deliberate attack tomorrow to see what the Forts are.
Australia
The Invasion Forces for Operation Shimakaze turn their bows in towards their targets of Geraldton and Esperance. Landings in 4 days. CARDIV2 arrives tomorrow to provide direct cover the Operation.
Midway
I was getting ready to swing the 4 CVs of the KB up NE of Hawaii when we stumbled on some form of TF heading for Midway. Over the last two days the Betty's of Midway and Vals/Kates of KB have sunk 7 DMS and damaged 3 more plus 2 DDs. Rather strange TF!

A nice harvest is brought in around Pago Pago this day. An AM, 8 TK, and 4 AK are sunk due to surface gunnery.
First attack occurs with the 2nd ID missing a 1-1 but just a few points. The Americans have Forts at 2 and we'll take this base in a few days. Will rest and then Shock Attack.
CVLs move towards west of Tahiti where several convoys are spotted this turn by Mavis flying from our new base there. The EASTERN supply line to Aussieland is now CUT!

The Geraldton and Esperance Invasion Forces are 3-4 days out and have not been spotted. CARDIV2 arrives on scene tomorrow and will secure aerial control of the region.
Broome fell this turn with Port Hedlund falling tomorrow.
The air bridge of Dempasar--Broome--Geraldton is all set for when the opening occurs. The two daitai of Tina and a daitai of Topsy wait at Denpasar so they can immediately move to Geraldton for the air drop on Kalgoorlie.

I have the feeling that this game is over and your opponents are just fish flopping out of water.
