Give me back my thread dame it!!!

Operations first strike quickly turned into operation first defeat. As my attempt to take the Northern Hill quickly turned into a rout. For many of my troops. It is hard to have to make a decision to leave five tanks stranded in order to avoid complete defeat. :(
Back to you oh circler of dead corpses. :)

Fresh kills are okay, but the flavor is enhanced with time:)

The north hill is no sooner cleaned off when you threaten my south hill. It doesn't seem as powerful of a force but then all I saw was the adavnce party. I did take a few shots at a 50cal until it ran out of range. I lost another kubelwagon to a 3inAT. You have them well placed. I am gong to have to do something about them but not yet. They have too many friends around and my screeming meemies are a little under the weather.

When we order reinforcements, are they to arrive after turn 10 or are they not ordered until after turn ten? I am still new to that aspect. You see, :( I'm running out of transport for my little AT units. You keep picking them off with those 3inAT.  and those 105's.  Still its better than losing tanks.

Bring on more of those Rangers, I have a new trick for them. ;)

And here's one from my buddy Oberst P. "Carrion, my wayward son, there'll be peas when we are done".
and another from me "All we are saying, is give peas a chance"

This could start a whole new vegatable thread.

Not much in my turn

Post by Gary Tatro »

I figured since you had only all of your army on the North hill I could get some free kills in the south. 2 squads and a half track were nice, but now it is time to regroup since you have probably done the same.
Order you reinforcements now. You can use them on turn 10. If they arrive before then leave them in the reinforcement hex.

One thing I think would be very cool is if you could order crews as reinforcements and recrew abandoned tanks/vehicles. I saw it done in lost victories once. I thought wow that was really cool. The senarios starts out with one of your tanks abaondoned then you get a crew as a reinforcment latter on. If you bring it to the tank they recrew it.

I often thought that also. Why couldn't another crew trained in the same equipment man the abandoned unit?

You will not have to worry about that in this game. When you sit an infantry unit of any type in the same hex with an abandoned vehicle, it destroys the enemy's vehicle. and the points count too:) :)

I discovered a couple of half-tracks in the smoke. I thought that I was a dead'un when I found the one in the south. It was retreating for no reason that I could see. I heard that if you play a few moves and then play the video, that those moves will not show up on the playback of the other person. Is this true? Is this what happened? Oh, maybe its the one that my Stug fired at in your last turn.

I have been trying the "shoot around corners" with the heavy HE from my SP guns. It seems to work some. Not many kills though, mostly just suppression.

Good luck on your turn.;)

Not much from me this turn either

Post by Gary Tatro »

Killed some infiltrators and some recon eliments. Got some units shot up and found a hole mass of tanks and infantry ready to charge. To bad I could not do anything about them. :( Well the artillary barage came in right on schedule as I ended my turn. It is going to be a bad turn for me I think.

They charged.

Post by Buzzard45 »

It was picture perfect until I started the attack. Arty rained on a mass of tanks and HT borne engineers and Rangers. I came upon a routed mass of them. My StuGs couldn't hit a thing and when they did all I got was a couple of riccochets. Engineers and Airborne came in to close assault and only managed to knock the treads off one M10. I got impatient and moved a StuG into LOs of a 3inAT that I knew was there and lost him. The Rangers and US engineers are all running but all the HTs are still there.:( :(

In the south its a bit better. I scouted out a few units including two Shermans. My Stugs did quite a bit better punching a hole in the first one and engineers IM'd the second.

I put some heavy HE Direct fire on 4 different 3inAT ( a lot of fire) in the centre and couldn't take out a one of them. I can only hope that they abandon the guns. Gary, The Lady is shining on you still. But be careful the StuGs are best in defense. Maybe I should have stayed with that.

I think its time for the Tigers.:D :D

They counter charge

Post by Gary Tatro »

Well folks the USA just can't stand taking a beating so we counter charged. Did ok, would have done better if M4 did not blow up everytime someone sneazes. Sheesh. I tell you it is a good thing we made a lot of them. Because unless you had four to one odds you were if for a tough fight. (but that can be said about all fights) :) And if my M15's could penatrate his armored cars I would have had a couple of artillary pieces. Well maybe next time.
In my humbe counter charge I rack up a platoon of tanks, a platoon of half tracks and a number of infantry shot up. This could be the end though. Depends upon if Buz has back up. This is going into round 11 and I am sure he had reinforcements on turn 10 so can he git them to the front is the question? I am closer to my reinforcement line, maybe that will scare him off. :p

OP Fire did it.

Post by Buzzard45 »

I am very impressed with the Stugs OP fire. During Gary's attack they racked up 2 Shermas, at least 2 M15's and a Wolverine. Plus numerous infantry.

Gary. yah gotta be hurtin', bud. There are more AT that are scared but not hurt in the dunes and the M15's with 2 jeeps that you sent to the road are making toast to go with the Bratwurst. :) The south cost you the M15 that you left there and some crews.

I'll need to re-group a bit before another charge and by then your reinforcements will be in the line. I didn't see a one of your AUX units. But they can't be far. They are likely behind the smoke that you fired before the end of your turn. I should have gone after those 105's but.... There is the small mater of their over-watch.:(

I counted my losses BTW:) :) :) . I have only lost one platoon of Stugs- Total. And none of my close support StuHs or SiG33's. My transport is waning but there are more coming and enough of those T38's to deal with the rest of your M15's :)
I sure wish I had some Panzerfausts. The satchel charges are just not doing it.

Happy hunting Gary. Have you spotted the other infiltrators yet?:p ;) :p

Taunt Taunt;)

Not much from

Post by Gary Tatro »

me this turn. My reinfrocements arrived, and I used them agressively. We will see how it pays off.

I don't know how many times I have to tell people, just do not leave a tank next to a suppressed ranger squad it is just not a pretty sight.

Well Mad Max's rangers did pretty good this time, anther platoon of tanks down and two more immobilized. :D

Back to you oh flyer of circles.

WOW WHATA HIT

Post by Buzzard45 »

Crunch City. Its enough to make me a cannibal. 5 tanks. Plus HTs and infantry. A whole swarm of ranger AUX comes out smoke and .....what else do you say..SMOKES me.:(

They were not alone surviving Shermans and Wolverines and M15's joined the fray. Even 105's on HTs came in and got a StuH kill.

Staggering on limp wings and talons, I crawl backward to the hills.

I'll getcha back GTO. Come on I'll bite yur kneecaps,

  Grrr Grrr. Oh I forgot I'm a bird. Squawk Squawk!!

Not much from me this turn

Post by Gary Tatro »

I finished off the two tanks that had been immobilized last turn, the crews freaked and jumped out. Then I had a real difficult time finding the enemy. Where did you go oh pecker of corpses? Did you fly away? Where will you land next?

Well it seems that the Germans have decided to hide.

Post by Gary Tatro »

But I manage to inflict damage anyway. I found a loan mobil artillary piece that had been immobilized and the crew had jumped out in prior turns had been recrewed right next to a ranger squad. God I love bazooka's. :D Managed to get another unit destroyed by a ATG on top of the southern hill, that makes about 5 kills for that dam unit. Gave it a little present this turn. But it will probably rally since it is German.

What is it with German Mine's are they like halftrack attractors. The German engineers have been at work again. It seems that they always miss the mines that I have laid though. :(

Took out an ATG and another infantry. Pretty good turn, not much damage on my part. Back to you oh Carrion crawler.

What makes you think it is only one. ATG are never deployed singly.

Mean those mines. Smart mines is what I use.

I did little this turn shot up some scouts and watched for movement. Still waiting for reinforcements to join the fray.

Come on Bean Counter. I hold the V-hexes. Its time to face MY AT. Lots yours are running.
You are going to need heavier arty. Where are the 105's? Are they where my sceaming meemies are aimed ???

Another uneventful

Post by Gary Tatro »

turn. As the buzzards cower behind their hill, waiting for the poor Americans to crawl over the top and get decimated by rockets and mortors and sigs, oh my.

It appears that the Mighty buzzard pulled even farther back closer to his lines as he awaits his reinforcement to get to the front and after last turns mortar boombardment. I did not see any of your rockets land on the end of my turn. If my memory serves me right you only have one or two of them functioning still. :) Break downs are wonderful when they happen to the other guy.

Well back to you, oh and be careful of accountants--we multiply. :p

Break-downs?

Post by Buzzard45 »

You have break-downs?. Well! That's it, I want some too. Make mine with a little cream and sugar.

I'm beginning to wonder if its only numbers that you can crunch? :p The full load from at least one HT and 6 rounds from the much vaunted Rangers and only one engineer is wounded. come into the smoke ,Gary. come into the smoke. I have a nice little package for you....

Well, okay. YOU win this turn. I lose another HT to that 3inAT. Dang that thing must have a kill rating up around 5 or 6. All I got , for the price of a Kubelwagon , was a scout. No peeking now!! The AUX are deployed and ready. Just waiting for the ammo trucks to do their job.;) ;)

See the tree in North. That's me sitting on the lone branch. Sit a little, Flap a little. A buzzards life. What the peck!:) :)

What smoke

Post by Gary Tatro »

all of your smoke has disappated. You come into the smoke. Not much from me, I shot up a couple of MG's and and ATG but lose a half track.

I was watching the cartoon network after getting home from work yesterday and one of my fav's Dexturs Labratory was on. It was the one where he repairs Dino' Mut, "The Blue Falcon's" side kick, he had been damaged by the Evil Villian, "Buzzord" who had used hit talon hands to punch a hole into Dino Mut. It made me laugh as I thought of you. :D :D :D

I lose another T38

Post by Buzzard45 »

to a 3inAT. Dumb move on my part. I knew he was there. I should have moved a hex at a time instead of letting the AI pick the quickest route.

I shot up the Rangers that were advancing but that was about it.

Next turn will see more. No heavy arty from you in a while????

So?, should I call you Dino Mut?

Another ATG

Post by Gary Tatro »

destroyed along with some Kublewagons, big turn for me, huh. I am finally starting to see some of B's aux units, or not see them as it is, lots of ATG's. And B got of a rocket barage last turn to keep me honest. GRR. I hate rockets.

There are more rockets.!!!

Post by Buzzard45 »

I am just not sure where to send them. They are on short notice in various places.:) :D :)

You aren't counting those 37mm as real ATGs are you? They are just because I don't have panzerfausts yet. In fact panzerfausts would be more useful. You have most them but they have big brothers out there some where. I count them as real ATGs, on par with your 3inATG.

BTW, I found a weapon that will hurt those ATGs. Now just to bring more up. The Heavy HE just didn't touch them.

That Sherman that you reserected from the dead? Its dead again. The others that I left IM'd seem to have come back to life as well. I can't see their skeletons anymore. I am kicking myself for not continueing the attack when I had the chance and picking those bones free of juicy, juicy fresh flrsh. MMMmmmm. Heavy sigh. They were just getting ripe too.

Well, come on Bean Counter. I see the 105s and 60mm have hit the hill hard. Bring it on, I've been expecting you to knock.:D
