NEW custom MapMarkers & Unit counters
Greetings,
I made these custom markers so the Game Map looks more 'military' rather than the casino style counter chips.
I think these look good on the fabulous new maps, easy to read and functional.
Special thanks to 'redmarkus4' for the use of his Bridges/blown map marker.
won't let me post the screenies yet..
but they are included in the attached zip

RE: NEW custom MapMarkers & Unit counters
Hi all,
As a newcomer I'm still not used to the map conventions in this game. Where would I place these customized map markers within the folder structure?
Thanks!
Rob.

Matrix Games\Flashpoint Campaigns Red Storm\Modules\FPRS\Data for nation specific stuff.
Matrix Games\Flashpoint Campaigns Red Storm\Assets\Map Markers for the map stuff.
plus the folders in the download are labeled.

Also,
when you select a scenario/Campaign to play, after the briefing but before you issue orders,
select 'Views' from the top left pop-down menu, last sub menu, select 'Refresh subunit images from disk'.
This will load the latest files you have just replaced residing in 'Data' & 'Map Markers' folders.
If you don't do this, you will always see the default generic files.
Cheers

Could you change the color of the Kill_R to red color and Kill_B to blue so that it will show up better on the map. That way I or another player can tell by looking where the kills are at on the map.
I don't have the experience on how to do change the colors that has transparent.

Specially Requested.
Blue and Red Destroyed Unit marker.
There is a screenie in the Zip File.
I prefer the Blacked Hulls,
I know where my lads have fallen and where the Enemy failed [:)]

Really nice!
Another special request.[:)]
Could you change the color of "Obstacle_B" to blue color?
Black looks more 'military', but often it's not very visible.

Hi latecomer to this mod but my Steam edition does not have a MapMarkers folder under \assets, only \Weather.
EDIT: SOrry I found it. Thanks for a great mod!

RE: NEW custom MapMarkers & Unit counters
After months of abstinence I am back to the game and discovered this notable mod by HeinzBaby.
The mod is great.
Now our Bundeswehr finally in traditional gray!
In my opinion, this mod should be already integrated in the retail version of Flashpoint Campaigns: Red Storm Player's Edition.
With this mod all becomes more serious, adult, military.
Thank you.

RE: NEW custom MapMarkers & Unit counters
User mods have the benefit of art that may be copyrighted material. We don't have the time or budget to track down and license images like above. Maybe someday. As for gray background we have that ear marked for the East German counters so I used a blue-gray color for West German counters. The good news is that you can mod that stuff all you like. [:D]

RE: NEW custom MapMarkers & Unit counters
Just found this great mod. But I see no bridges, blown or otherwise, in the downloaded files. Are they meant to be in there?

Hiya phoenix,
I've just DL'ed the V2 zip and they are there in the Map Markers folder named 'Bridge' & 'Bridge-Blown'
You have to look twice on the Map to see them… the Blown Bridge has a red 'X' through the black bracket bridge.
Don't forget to check the 'save' folders in the Data folders for alternative Radio trans. files
