1st Army conducted 6 attacks and all were retreat results, total loses for the turn = 34,445 with 2 divisions and 1 regiment cut off.

Without the prep points travelling with the naval amphibs from the Med you only accumulate 6 prep points/turn in the largest ports for two division stacks. So it takes 9 turns to be able to invade.

Pelton still hasn't mentioned if the landings were even contested. We don't know what went ashore in Sicily, or Brittany. In the initial landing photo the only unit even identified by size is a Bde, and it is by itself on a temporary port.
A regiment in a level 6 port will get over 20 prep points per turn.
It can land uncontested and allow you to unload plenty of divisions behind it if not erased on the first opportunity.

Did brigades come into a sparsely held area with static German units manning the defenses? The person who knows hasn't given much in the way of details.

Turn 9 VP’s this turn: -43 Total: -123
Troop ships lost: 67 Cargo: 240

I finish off the pocketed units, but am unable to take the tempo port beach. I am guessing the 2 TF's are giving fire support as I had over 60 CV and had RR each assault.

I will try one more time next turn if that fails I will work my way in the center along the ridge line.

Brest holds vs 4 more attacks.

I am surpised at how light his troopship loses are so far, he invaded Sicily turn 1, Britany turn 6 + shipping in 15+ divisions + 6+ routed units back to England and he just invaded Sardina this turn.

AND I control all the shipping lanes.

As can be seen as Germany always have a reserve panzer Corp on the rail lines.

Brittany is ALWAYS going to be static out by Brest as you simply don't have the points to activate divisions by turn 6. I had 2 PD and 2 ID's at the base of Brittany.
He only had 4 landing areas and 1 took the southern most 1 turn 8.
I am not sure what landed turn 7, other then para units and 2 regiments, but the turn after he landed this was what I recon and its mostly divisions and allot of them.

As Germany its simply impossible to strongly garrison everything, I left that area weak and moved the LW and started bombing the turn he landed.

No matter what he pinned down and cant get out, best case I drive him off.

I have alrdy started pulling units off line to strengthen the rest of the Atlantic wall. As I am sure hes going to keep spamming HQBU's

I don't believe anyone is saying that it can't be done faster, nor that it can't or wouldn't have been done, but he had extra prep points that would allow him a huge advantage that he shouldn't have. Maybe you will agree on that?

Turn 10 VP’s this turn: -62 Total: -185
Troop ships lost: 77 Cargo: 263

This map is before attacks, I was able to retake the hex I lost and assaulted the one landing(temport) 2 times with 6 PD and reactions/4 fresh divisions the 2nd attack and both failed.

so I am going to try clearing another hex inland and then try from 3 or 4 sides.

Brest held again vs 3 more attacks, but will more then likely fall the next round of assaults, which is fine I can bomb it to 100% NP in 2 turns.

Sicliy held easly vs a few more attacks and the Sardina landing looks to be held in check also this turn.

I am racking up the VP's every turn that's for sure.

Not sure how hes getting supplies to Brittany as 1 TP is next to Brest and I have control of the shipping lands at the other 2?

I have never seen a hex hold with only 10 CV vs 60+ 4 times in 2 turns very weird.

Might have 2by3 check the next turn.

I am using it to "test" the waters to send in another division and wanted to see if I could do and exploit.

Exploit did not work

Hmm just thought of another possible exploit I will give it a try hehehe.

One failed exploit can lead to another good exploit, yes yes I will have 2by3 pull a save.

Someone has to keep them busy and I am guessing someone else has tried it already.

Brittany is ALWAYS going to be static out by Brest as you simply don't have the points to activate divisions by turn 6. I had 2 PD and 2 ID's at the base of Brittany.
He only had 4 landing areas and 1 took the southern most 1 turn 8.

By turn six you had about 40 points to spend. How you choose to spend them is not dictated.

You chose to keep your reserves back (and I'm not saying that is a bad decision), but can you tell us if any of the landings were contested. It sounds like he hit empty beaches. Is that correct?
I am not sure what landed turn 7, other then para units and 2 regiments, but the turn after he landed this was what I recon and its mostly divisions and allot of them.

He can bring in lots and lots of division to the temp ports the turn after they are established.
The concern expressed is about his ability to make a landing on turn 6. So far I spotted a brigade and you mention two regiments, while people are talking bout the time required to prep double division landings. I'm trying to ascertain if what people are concerned about actually happened.
As Germany its simply impossible to strongly garrison everything, I left that area weak and moved the LW and started bombing the turn he landed.

As Germany your garrison requirements are 320 CV and you start with 413 CV of units in the garrison areas.
NW France in fact is 'over' garrisoned by 22 CV at the start.

Where and how you decide to deploy is kind of the point of the game.

Your opponent apparently made a half-assed effort for Sicily (not even strong enough to best the Italian garrison!) and experience has shown you the invasion of northern Europe is a possibility so you didn't ignore it like you did before.
If he's further split his effort into Sardinia he is in serious trouble in my view. At least landing on mainland Italy at this point might trigger Italian surrender - I don't know why he wants to dive into Sardinia (where he faces another fight) when he can't even clear Sicily.
Part of the 'game' for the Western Allies is to not throw your overall chances in the toilet right out of the gate.
I think the WA have a sledgehammer. I think some folks make a mistake of breaking that sledgehammer up and expecting the pieces to have the same effect.

Did that HQ sit at sea during his turn unmolested?

Is he getting supplies, or are you wondering why he isn't showing as isolated? Temp port should be considered a national supply source in that determination. I think they mentioned that as an rule in effect but unmentioned in the manual in one of the patch PDFs

Yes...he is isolated in the sense that he is not getting new supplies in by sea....however, he isn't isolated for the combat malus.

A brigade/regt will prep 21 points per turn in a size 6 port. So minimum three turns with only brigade/regt landing. Brittany starts off the 43 Campaign with little or no troops in it other than the ports. So an easy landing with a good second wave could do it in that time, even without the current situation on prep points.

The Allies have real limitations on troops in the summer of 43. You only have the three armies in the MTO and a single army in the ETO at start and you don't receive that many additional troops for quite some time. The Allies have got to keep concentrated to a certain extent and to keep things moving.

II SS Panzer Corp takes one of the critical rough hexes and XIV Corp holds vs 1 assault.

Another Panzer Division is pulled off line to garrison the coast line.

Turn 13 VP’s this turn: -29 Total: -283
Troop ships lost: 99 Cargo: 333

After looking over my failed attempts to take back the beachheads, Rommel finds a way to increase my CV by 21%.

The Stukas first work the hex over and Rommel sets up a double assault.

The 1st assault fails, but combined with the Stukas it lowers the BH CV to 5!!!!

The 2nd assault forces the enemy to retreat.

Now the landing area is down to a port that's at 100% damage and 1 tempo port = DOOM!!!

More GD/PD are withdrawn from the area.

One beach won't supply all those guys and you don't have alot of air transport at this point. Once you go below three temp. ports, you should start withdrawing because you can't supply everyone if you've put a lot of troops ashore.

I'm not sure what he could be thinking in Corsica. A brigade to invade a hex??? Invasion spam is not a viable strategy against a good player. If your **** isn't in one sock, then your invasion will probably smell like ****.[;)]
