The 1st assault fails, but combined with the Stukas it lowers the BH CV to 5!!!!

Bf-110s are nice as well.
I have ~3-4 Division equivalents that have held off over a dozen WA divisions (and driven a few into the sea) in Sardinia because I have a better handle on the air war than my opponent at this stage.
I'm not sure what he could be thinking in Corsica. A brigade to invade a hex???

This dude is waving the newb flag pretty hard.
Unfortunately, that means this doesn't tell us too much about the genuine viability of an early Brittany landing.

Learning from my mistakes I can hold vs any early landing from Brest to Denmark.

Germany simply needs to garrison the ridge line east of Brest and put 2 more PD/GD divisions (3 alrdy there) at the base of Brittany in the good terrain hexes. This makes sure WA can't take the ridge line D-day+1 and that 6 PD/GD can attack and hem in the landing area.
Holland needs 2 PD's and 4-5 more from Cean to northern French border.

Once the prep point cheat has been removed 43 landing will be impossible.

I can't believe that has not been fixed yet

Was that even a factor here? In the future you can actually see what came ashore initially by looking at the battle report even if you didn't have a unit in the hex that was attacked.
I just can't put any faith in the outcome because it doesn't seem like he knew what to do with his airpower, nor his TFs. It's like he came ashore with both arms tied behind his back.
I think a '43 landing is possible, but I don't see anything to make me think they're a good idea so far.

The 2nd RAF Tactical and 9th USAAF just don't have the airpower in 43 to put up good interdiction zones vs the Axis. Without those zones the Axis have the ability to put too much strength against an invasion. Yes you could transfer a lot of the Tactical AF from the MTO, but even that is not overly strong in 43 and the infrastructure (i.e. airbase capacity) in southern Britain won't help in the basing either.

I can see how I can get an invasion by turn 5 into Brittany without any bug or exploit - use brigades against vacant hexes, etc. You have the possibility of using two airborne divisions to protect the new invasions until the second wave hits. You could also have the additional support by commandos to give a larger cushion of comfort and avoid having the invasions pushed back into the sea on the same turn as the invasion. 5th US Army would be ready in Britain by turn 5 as reinforcements and you have the 2nd BR Army already present on turn 1. So you could easily do an invasion like this without any bugs or exploits.

But the Axis can obviously stop you and put the hurt on. It is possible that some of the stuff Pelton is doing could be countered by a more experienced Allied player. But Pelton is playing without the EF Box also. Whether a more experienced Allied player could actually pull it off is still debatable and I would like to see someone try. You can do it fairly easily vs the AI (I have done so several times in play testing) but the difficulty vs a human is another thing altogether.

About the only place you could pull this off vs a human Axis player who is aware of the possibility is in Brittany or Normandy. The other locations already have troops holding the coast line and would have to be defeated on the beaches. This would entail a larger invasion force which would push the invasion turn back to turn 11 or 12 at least. By that time, the weather is starting to turn wet in the ETO and the Axis have more time to get organized and have more warning. Just another set of possibilities that both the Allies and Axis players have to consider.

You would need a house rule so that the WA player doesn't take advantage of the prep point bug. Any invasion should be delayed two or three turns as if they were starting from scratch prepping, as they should be at zero before you retarget them.

It has been fixed in the version we'll be putting into test later today. From what we can tell though, the units are losing their amphib preps when they change theater because they end up in a port without the amphib. The bug was that the amphibs which end up at sea were not losing their amphib prep points.

I think we've come full circle to 'possible, but not a good idea'.
The possibility of it I think has the effect it did historically - require the Germans to balance their defensive allocation in light of the threats.

Another way to look at it - the garrison requirements reward the WA for sticking with the original invasion areas by limiting the Axis' available units. EF box changes this of course, but there is already a mechanism to keep the East-West pull historical if that's what people want.

Next thing is to see how an Allied 'over' commitment outside the garrison zone is handled in a non-EF box game...

This turn I lost a hex so I retake it, but don't keep pushing.

Going to try and take one hex at a time and then hold it with my 3 extra divisions that are fresh.

The longer this goes on the better for me at this point with Brest at 90%+ damage per turn and one tempo port its just a matter of time.

I like to surround the troops in the rough area then get them to surrender.

I am currently tring to get back to per invasion garrison numbers incase he with draws so I don't lose a few 100 VP because the garrison #s magicly go up in a single turn.

Another reason if I surround that stack it will stay on the map until I have G# ready

Nice good work, you guys get it right not as fast as we like because someone has to do the real work.

As in RL btching is for us lazy people and the work is done by 2by3 and company.

As with any new release the scales go back an forth as the player base starts to get a handle on game mechanics.

The thing I really injoy about WitW is there is no "set plan" there are several dozen combinations. WitE only has 8-10 tops, WitW 20-30 from what I have seen and am figuring out myself.

I really injoy the game as you simply have no idea WTH the other guy is going to do.

Nothing has really changed the last 12 turns on Brittany.

The Stuka's keep Brest at 100% damage and 2 LW patrols the coast.

Brest is basicly a POW camp.

On the Italian Front WA's try another invasion seeing the North Eastern invasion was a complete flop.

I got more then enough reserves to cover it and have reserves for a large invasion in France.

As predicted more invasion spam.

2by3 can we stop with the Middle Earth HQBU BS?

When pigs fly campaign about to begin.

Again this is 10000000000000% unhistorical BS.
