I know with Germany when you research Light air craft carriers they add a carrier fighter type.
Favoritism is alive and well here.

So there is some research not listed in the research area???hmmm sneaky.
RE: Bombur v1.00
You can get carrier aircraft from your allies....
RE: Bombur v1.00
But Italy wasn´t supposed to have light carriers in 1938. I will check...

I thought with Bombur's Mod there wasn't any researching available. You can spend PP's on research and can see what your getting somehow?

Each Country has special research that you can buy. Only a couple things though.ORIGINAL: baloo7777

Is this the factory R&D that you are talking about? Just like me to play an entire game of v0.85 and not understand how it works...[8|]

RE: Bombur v1.00
As I understand it all historical weapons and upgrades are available at the start of a new year, no PP is required to obtain the next equipment type, there are some specialized pieces of equipment that are under the category of what ifs, they require PP to purchase. So PP is mostly for factories and fortifications HQ's units etc don't forget unlike GD1938 PP is needed to create units.

In the future we are going to expand the list of what is if SFT´s. I was also considering to give for free only the 1st version of each SFT. For instance, you have Spitifire I for free, but must research each latter version. What do you think about this? I´m accepting ideas for the upcoming mega upgrade of the research system.
RE: Bombur v1.00
I like researching stuff and trying to keep up with or surpass the enemy...but only if research remains fairly expensive, with competing wants and needs for the regular supply and equipping of units, which seems quite realistic to me.

Sorry for delay. I cant seem to get this scenario to load. Keep getting pop-ups saying I'm missing various graphics, yet I'm pretty certain
I downloaded everything correctly.

RE: Bombur v1.00
A example on how R&D are related to production. The Panzer IVg a good medium tank is to be replaced by the Panther, this would require retooling at the factory, in the game this amounts to a small amount of production loss in reality this retooling cost was a more substantial loss in production. Perhaps changing production lines for a specific city could result in the the loss of production for one or two months. This should not be merely damage to the city to reduce production as this creates other problems such as damage to the readiness of naval and Air units based at that city.
But if the four production lines for any given city or factory could be manipulated so that any change to one of those production lines would immediately take them offline for one or two months.

RE: Bombur v1.00
In some games the Panzer IVg replaces an earlier model and does not go away with the introduction of the Panthers and Tigers as they are completely different tanks. And both cost considerably more to produce than the Panzer IVg's so you can still produce them. The Panther and Tiger are heavy tanks while the IV is a medium tank. So research is needed in heavy tanks not medium tanks.

I get those pop I just ignore them they just mean that a jpeg is missing if you list the missing jpeg file names Bombur can supply them, I think if you start with Bomburs original version then combine the versions you don't get the missing jpeg problem.
Either way if you ignore the pop ups you can still play the turn it just means some of the pics will be missing.

RE: Bombur v1.00
I have never read anywhere that the Panther was a heavy tank, from the top of my head it was about 30 tons, I am not saying that should not be able to produce Panzer IVg's, only that if you start a new production line, a delay should come with that production line before you are up to full production.

RE: Bombur v1.00
Panther was a heavy tank...its just the Germans had such insane heavies they rated it a medium...it was a real surprise to the US when they encountered a med that was a heavy. Panther was just a tad under 45 tons...but def. was a heavy despite Hitler's insane views on things

RE: Bombur v1.00
I was not really looking to get into the debate about the type of tank a Panther was, it was a example of the changes required at tank factories, or other factories for that matter, about the loss of production switching from one weapons system to another, retooling retraining etc. I have read lots material stating that that the German tendency to create new models was a drain on their production system causing inefficiency, therefore producing fewer much needed tanks for the front.
But if I must give a opinion on the panther it was to heavy to be called a medium and to light for a heavy, so I would call it Medium/Heavy.
